Some of these plays are insanely good. Another video I enjoyed watching was the top 50 assists. Although no surprises who was number 1.

Have people been voting in the NBA all star vote? I've voted a few times.
Today my votes were
Eastern: Giannis, Embiid, Leonard, Irving, Wall Western: Harden, DeRozan, LeBron, Towns, Durant
Tomorrow my votes might be different - except Harden of course!

Enes Kanter doesn't want to come to London for fear of assassination.
Surely he'd be well protected?

Tom Thibs is out despite winning today! No massive shock. Scott Brooks next surely.
Harden has been ridiculous lately!

Enes Kanter doesn't want to come to London for fear of assassination. Surely he'd be well protected? Apparently he’s been told he wouldn’t be given any protection if he decides to anywhere other than the game and his hotel room. He’s a massive Harry Potter fan, and would love to visit the studio tour in London, but says he feels it would be unsafe for him to do so apparently. I can’t realistically see an NBA start being assassinated whilst in the UK to play an NBA game, but he’s entitled to his opinions I guess.

Speaking of the NBA London game on 17/02, it’s being broadcast live on Sky Sports Mix – which is available to all Sky subscribers (not just sports subscribers). Sky Sports Mix will also be airing NBA programming all-day to mark the occasion. I suppose that’s some consolation considering it was almost impossible for anyone to get tickets (again).

East and West? Don't you mean Team LeBron and Team Antetokounmpo?

Wall is out for the season so no point voting for him. Anyway look at the Wizards, what a disgrace they are. I wouldn't be so quick to reward Wall when he had them where he did while playing.
Be nice to see Steven Adams get some love in the frontcourt but that would mean okc getting 3 all stars which seems unlikely. But I'll be annoyed if GS get 4 again given they've been nothing special so far this season.

Be interesting if Nick Nurse gets to coach the all Star game, it's a close race between him and Mike Bud in the east!

Been a while since posting so...
Harden - his play utterly ridiculous level! Not sure he gets fouled as often as he gets calls but he's been amazing. Dirk - great to see him back on court but I don't want to see a repeat of the Boston game where the Boston fans were chanting for the Mavs to get him the ball to shoot. He's a legend and I cannot imagine that is what he wants. Nurse - would be fantastic to see a BBL alumini coach the ASG!

Was also just reading Hersey blog about how much he was enjoying watching NBA games over the Xmas period. I've got to agree that there have been some cracking games with some great shot making. I still feel though that the product could be improved with some changes to the time outs; particularly at the end of games. I also miss the variety of play that used to exist. With so few low/high post players featuring for teams the drive towards "analytic" basketball continues. I get the numbers. The ability of the modern NBA player to hit a consistently decent % from 3 pt range provides a compelling argument. It makes for some great comebacks too but also some terrible passages of play. NOt every team are Houston or GSW. There was a passage of play in a recent game where the team missed well into the teens IN A ROW of 3pt shots but continued to look for those shots even from fast break opportunities.
I'm also intrigued by JVGs latest crusade about stopping fouls that are deliberately done to stop fast breaks (in back court before it becomes a breakaway foul). I don't like them either but I wonder how practical it is for a ref to clarify the difference between the deliberate foul and a genuine attempt to steal the ball? If I think about rugby the jeopardy involved in stepping out of the line to intercept a pass is huge. If you catch it you can often be in under the posts....if you drop it you can be in sin bin for 10 mins. Do we want to say that defensive fouls in back court are always 2 shots and the ball? tough one.

Im sure in the old days they had something called an 'unsportsmanlike' foul (might be thinking of FIBA rules though) where something like a deliberate foul on a fast break would result in that call being made. But then surely you'd have to call it like that at the end of games when teams deliberately foul to stop the clock and put the opponent on the line? It's essentially the same thing...

Not sure if this is new but it was advertised at me today. One-week League Pass free trial watch.nba.com/Free_TrialI'm guessing Sky Sports are not showing the London game free online like BT Sport have over the years?

I've written lots and lots and lots about the NBA this week, but is anyone from this parish actually going? Am I imagining it or is the enthusiasm from people who regularly go to basketball on the wane for this annual event?

I'd only try & go to one of these things if the Bulls were involved, pointless otherwise as I have no interest in any other team
