So "The Brow" wants out of New Orleans. www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/25869416/anthony-davis-trades-celtics-lakers-knicks-do-nowConsidering he is in contract for another season after this the talking heads all seem to be of the opinion that Pelicans should not rush. However it cannot be a good feeling to know your superstar wants out. Will he play hard? Will he still want to win? What will his greater motivation be? The biggest noise is for him to join the Lakers. Apparently they would have to gut their roster to swing that deal. It would probably be worth it but they'd still need some shooters. Intriguing!

Heard he might be tempted by the Raptors in a deal which sees Jonas, Powell and OG away?

Surprised at the deal and as usual I think the Knicks have managed to screw it up. Ok we don't know how good KP will be coming back from his injury, he may never be as good as he was before. But he might be. And then you throw Hardaway in as well? He's pretty good (albeit overpaid). Dennis Smith I am still unsure about, I don't think he is going to blossom into a fully fledged star and DeAndre Jordan is probably now past his prime years, or about to be. Not an all star now like he used to be.
Meanwhile the all star reserves have been announced, a few nice surprises in there like Middleton and Jokic (not really a surprise but nice to see him make it for the first time) and Green missing out is good, I'm sick of GS getting 4 all stars especially that guy.

Wade and Dirk added as special additions to the teams. Is this going to become a new thing, where aging stars get a kind of career achievement award with one last all star placement? I think it's a nice touch but Dirk in particular can hardly move now, I suspect he'll only play a few minutes. He needs the break to rest!
Gobert was in tears at not being selected, shows it does mean something to the players. I think it's a bit of a disgrace he didn't get picked and just highlights that defence doesn't count for much in today's NBA. Gobert isn't that far removed from being a Rodman type, obviously he scores more but he's mainly there for defence and doing all the little things that help win. It's terrible to see that sort of player being snubbed these days.

Dunno where you're living these days Sam -or care - but I hope if you ever venture out to a bar they serve bitter.

Hey great contribution guy. Your team acquires a star player and you're only comment is whatever that thing was you posted. Your team is primed for great things now but you're living in the past getting upset that someone said Dirk can't move anymore. Sad.

I don’t agree with honours ASG berths for vet players. If the fans wanted to see them they could’ve voted them in. I presume it was discussed with the two players which surprises me as I cannot imagine a class act like Dirk wanting to go through the motions for such a game. Wade might enjoy it more.
Hobert is right to be upset about not getting in but there are always notable omissions. It’s not a game for him anyway.
I’m most disappointed not to see Doncic in. He will be lighting up ASGs for years to come though.
Oh. Wind your necks in fellas. It was boring 5 years ago.......

5? Try 15...but he never changes. Anyway back to the game and don't forget Wade was voted in by the fans, but now that only counts for 50% of the overall vote, he didn't make it. Same for Doncic. I think wade will enjoy it, Dirk was going to go anyway as he's in the 3 point contest so perhaps he won't mind but I do think he'll play under 5 minutes.

Well Sam, I was actually commenting on
"I'm sick of GS getting 4 all stars especially that guy."
Which was the last comment you'd made. But I have absolutely no wish to have a conversation with you. And, judging by the lack of replies, nor has anyone else.

Ah and there I was thinking he'd actually let something go for the first time ever. But no, he just needed a bit more time to come up with such a superb reply. Awesome!
So he didn't like Draymond being rubbished, bit of a fan of his then... Why am I not surprised.

Oh Sam, were you checking every ten minutes to see if you got a reply? At least I could oblige thanks to a non-working toilet.
I thought you were still whining about KD, let's face it you're pissed with at least two of the Warriors' team.
It's great that you hate anyone ever disagreeing with you. Obviously it screws the NBA bit of this board, but you're a happy little man.
It's great you're still desperately trying to cling on to the only thing that makes you feel important even though the people who let Giants die have buggered off.
All we need now is a repeat of that little rant about how you were going to ban me from the www. It must be hearbreaking that you're reduced to moderating one single thread, and most people don't read it.

I can still ban you if I want actually. Want me to show you? Then you'll have nowhere to promote your blog, which is basically all you do on here these days.

So who would you take in a 5v5 challenge. The 76ers versus the Warriors? :-) www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/25960655/can-sixers-reach-their-incredible-ceilingwww.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/25970005/warriors-starting-5-good-gets-nba-historyTo be fair I think a trip to the NBA finals got an awful lot closer for the 76ers but I'd still take the Warriors 5. Curry v Reddick - love JJ but no contest Klay v Butler - lets call it a draw but horses for courses Draymond v Simmons - another draw for me but if Simmons could shoot he would have the edge over Draymonds defence. KD v Harris - Harris is a rising star. KD is a bonafide year on year MVP contender. KD all the way Cousins v Embiid - currently its easily Embiid but if we are talking a fully fit Boogie with this mindset then closer than people think perhaps. Still Edge to Embiid. Maybe we will get to see come June......kinda hope so

For me it's a bit of over-excitement with Philly acquiring Harris. He's a nice piece but does he valut them from around the 4-5 spot in the East to champions? No.
Reasons Philly don't win the conference, nevermind the finals:
Poor bench Chemistry issues between BS, JE and JB Lack of deep playoff experience
I'd still back Raptors and Bucks over the 76ers at the moment. That could all change of course but right now I think it's just a bit of extra hype they're enjoying. But it will be fun to see how it pans out. Oladipo getting injured for the season sucks as it takes Indy out of the running, but with Boston you still have 4 genuine contenders for the East which makes a nice change.

So the Lakers are 5.5 games off the play-offs with 18 to play before the end of the regular season. Is this the first real misstep in Lebrons very carefully crafted career? The Lakers were playing very well before his injury but they are all over the place now. I think its a real shame that a player of his calibre has put himself in a position where he will not be competing for a championship this year anyway but not even be in the playoffs? Maybe there is a bigger, more cunning plan behind the scenes.........or maybe he just cocked up!

I think he believed his own myth and while I doubt he believed he could sbasketball kit in and immediately challenge Warriors, he could never have thought his side would be in the lottery. I like the dude, but it is funny.

He has just passed MJ on the all time scoring list though, that's pretty cool. I don't think he can catch Kareem, he'd need 4 more seasons of good health and about 2000 points each time. Nobody is scoring like that by their 18th, 20th seasons. Be interesting to see if he can catch Malone for 2nd though.

LeBron is a hell of a player. Top 5 of all time no doubt and I can understand why some would say the best. (Not me). To be fair in the modern NBA it feels like we’re he to put his mind to it he could average more points now. Maybe he should and his team might win more.....his effort at times is extremely questionable this season in my opinion. That’s not the GOAT
