Watching it full screen on YouTube, type in FIBA and you get all the Eurocup games on tonight. Neither team scoring many on the paint, quite a number of three's being taken, Dinamo's going in.....Riders aren't!

I find the Riders European adventure intriguing from a personal POV. I enjoy seeing them lose domestic games (as I did Eagles before them) however I very much want them to get a couple of wins in Europe. Absolutely no part of me wants them to fail!

Riders shooting 7/15 3 pointers but only 3/10 two points. Some defence limiting a team to 3 x2 points in a half.

So if you win the 2 home games, what needs to happen in the other games for Riders to go through ?
Permutations ?

Top 2 in league go through Italians have won 4 and one of the Hungarian teams 3 already. Next week we play the other Hungarian team who have only won 1 so far (against us) I guess that's a chance to win (depending on our injuries)

Hardly a surprising result given who couldn't play for our team tonight. Severely depleted.

There's a comment midway through the interview that suggests the 3 missing players could be fit for the weekend?

Two big games so let's hope the injured players are able to play.

"We played hard we just didn't have the quality"
Thats a very simple answer to what happened last night
Holder, Burnett and Douse missing - hoping at least 2 of them are back for Lions and Royals Friday and Saturday
Win these 2 games and we are in great shape

I expect to see all 3 players suited up ready to play at the weekend & I presume that at least 2 will play decent minutes. Rob has prioritised this weekends 2 games over last night's game.

So Burnett has pretended to be injured for 3 weeks so he's fit to play lions on Friday And Douse pretended to get injured early in the Eagles game to save himself for Lions JR Holder - who knows what happened but didn't look like he even travelled with the team? Really looking forward to what should be a cracking game Friday You will have to play great to beat us. We will have to play great to beat you Simple as that Anything could happen but I am expecting us to find a way to win somehow - however ugly We can't keep Robinson as quiet as in the Playoff game I'm sure. I remember thinking back then he will remember this and come back stronger next time we meet.

No, it's clear Burnett was injured & Douse & Holder probably have slight niggles. If the game had been important they would have pushed hard for some game time but the travelling & the work involved for this game isn't worth the risk of aggravating an injury when you have an important home game on the Friday. In the same way that Thomson only played 14 minutes, did he only play 14 minutes because you wanted to win the game or because the next 2 games are more important? Barring foul trouble he'll probably play close to twice that amount in both weekends games. Rob has rotated the squad with this weekend in mind, which makes sense.

The fact he mentions that he hopes to get all players back gives me hope they all are as close as you think But even if fit to get involved again Burnett isnt going to be match fit

Alex Larsson is the new Eric Robertson so far as my critique of this seasons Riders is concerned.
Rob still leaves gaping holes in his front court and no matter how much his style of play dominates the BBL, we'll be having this hard luck conversation for the next however many years until he learns to utilise and recruit bigs properly.

Leicester Riders needs a big guy who they can dump it into and he can just go to work, they don’t have that type of player to compete against the other European teams. Larsson is not physical and skilled enough down there to compete against those players he goes up against on a nightly basis in Europe cup competition. Not sayings he’s not a good player but it’s a different level and he hasn’t shown what he can do on a consistent basis.

Don't even think they need a guy who can get a score down there 8 times out of 10.
They need a guy who can run the floor and keep tempo with the way Rob wants to play, set a decent screen, but more importantly rebound and defend. If you're asking for a scorer as well then forget it, they're too expensive.
You need a guy who can play proper fundamental basketball, open up the floor for his team mates, score 5-10ppg efficiently and most important of all rebound consistently at 10+ a game at the Europe cup standard.
If he can hit from 15 feet away at around 40% and isn't a focal point of an offense but is more a facilitator in terms of screening and getting plays run correctly, then that will do.
At the minute Larsson is offering diddly sh*t.

To be fair I think that was what Rob saw in Larsson - so I don't really criticise him for picking him up.
I don't get the loyalty when its clearly not working however.
