I Really believe bbl experience is over rated. We've seen how different styles can work in the bbl. A coach with an idea and time to recruit his players will work

I remember when Vincent L. was announced at Rocks - people were saying that they had never heard of him, and that he had no BBL experience. The BBL is hardly the pinnacle of basketball. It's barely in the foothills. |

I remember when Vincent L. was announced at Rocks - people were saying that they had never heard of him, and that he had no BBL experience. The BBL is hardly the pinnacle of basketball. It's barely in the foothills. And sometimes that's the problem, getting down far enough to our level. That's probably why Raiders still managed to survive with an Aussie coach with a CV headed "Fosters" |

Point taken re BBL experience not being that necessary and possibly over rated. But it must help surely?
However it is the timing that concerns me. Although we are in advance of last Summers debacle with PJ leaving in mid Summer time is moving on. If the new coach is selected this week then it could be one two or three months before arrival. All the other clubs have, as far as I know, coaches in place and I'll bet they have their contacts working hard to attract players.
Summer is the time when you win the league in my view. Recruitment is vital. None of the Wolves will be back surely so looking for seven new faces ( to go with say three Uni kids as bench players)and a new coach.
Freeman would be the only one I would want back. If only his name sake Tommy freeman was still playing...……...

Yeah he was good at Wolves. Good team with Richie Gordon’s, Tin Tin and a young Callum Jones off the bench. Freeman I don’t think did so well when he played at rocks though.

Yeah he was good at Wolves. Good team with Richie Gordon’s, Tin Tin and a young Callum Jones off the bench. Freeman I don’t think did so well when he played at rocks though. He was mostly quite poor at Rocks. Was excited when we signed him though, so can well understand Severnside's desire to get him back. |

It is now a month since the job application deadline for Wolves new coach. Seen nothing on here; Wolves or Uni websites or in the local press about who our coach is going to be. It smells a bit like last Summer with no coach and no players until mid August.
Does anyone know anything?
Where did Ty Shaw go? Is he recovered?

Heard a certain ex-Leeds coach was on his way down to Worcester a month ago but was last spotted buying a bottle in Trowell Services. Could be anywhere now... Would explain why they’re taking so long to make an announcement yet again. To all Wolves fans, I wouldn’t worry. There’s a certain objective entity called science that exists that can help you build a winning roster with absolutely zero chance of failure- it doesn’t matter about who coaches and recruits players. |
