I always like to laugh at the Royals and im sure Pat does too so here's your latest.
The Lav Twins have not moved to London! The royals fly them in on a Thursday, they train on the friday with the team , play the game and then are flown home!

Think they've done a deal to hire one of Thomas Cook planes. Also can imagine that's going to be a bit of a problem if they have a Wednesday game?

Livestats says 900 attendance - how many Lithuanians I wonder ?

Livestats says 900 attendance - how many Lithuanians I wonder ? The figures that always turn up on livestats look like someone picks a figure up out of the air but looking at the pictures it did look like a much bigger crowd than is normally there. Not sure of their nationality but I wouldn't turn up again paying those prices just to see a few minutes of ineffective running around for the two of them combined. Not certain the rest of the team knew they were on their side or who was on court.

I'm sure they did put some (Lithuanian) bums on seats but if they're only going to be bit-part players I can't see them turning up regularly. And 900 people isn't that impressive for a BBL team, anyway.

Looks like the Twins might be boosting Royals on YouTube too... Since the streaming started, games seem to be averaging 3-4K views each - Royals vs Flyers is up to 10K already.

That's nice & all that. But if it's going to reap commercial rewards it needs to be repeated consistently. And my guess is they'll be gone by Christmas.

The Lav Twins have not moved to London! The royals fly them in on a Thursday, they train on the friday with the team , play the game and then are flown home! Unbelievable, do Royals have a money tree of something? Despite not being in the starting 5, and then being somewhat underwhelming when they did play, the Lav twins have certainly increased awareness of the Royals. I was watching on YouTube and the crowd was perhaps the biggest I’ve seen at Crystal Palace since the London/London game last season. And there were quite a few Lithuanians there too – most dressed in yellow, that wouldn’t have been there otherwise. And looking at the viewing figures for Saturday’s game… currently it’s at 11,000 views – I think that might be the most any BBL game has ever had on YouTube. So inconclusion, I’m going to say this is good for the general awareness of the Royals, and therefore BBL, but I can’t believe this is sustainable long term (both the Lav twins and the Royals in general).

With the prices in London, who knows, it isn't beyond the realms of possibility that it could be cheaper, or at least not much more expensive, to fly them in and out like that than to have accommodation for them and their families in London. Still unlikely though.
IIRC when I was watching it, before half time, youtube said there were about 600-700 people watching it live cf 400-500 watching scorchers-wolves so it sounds like lots and lots of people watching it afterwards, or many like me watching a little bit.

Still unlikely though. Agreed. If they've got kids they're probably unwilling to uproot their families, at least until they've been paid.

Still unlikely though. That’s a fair point, 2 return flights from Lithuania to London every week could easily work out cheaper than paying for accommodation for them both in London, especially if they wanted their families to come over with them. But then you’ve got to find them accommodation for the days they’re here, even if it’s just hotels, and then the total cost becomes quite expensive again. I can understand why this works for the Lav brothers themselves, I’m just surprised the Royals think it makes economic sense. Or maybe I’m not based on Royals previous form.
