Worst. Commentator. EVER! Which is a shame, because I think the presentation was much improved this game. Commentary highlights for me was him giving “a shoutout to ‘whoever’ who says pick a pronunciation and stick to it, and another big shoutout to ‘whoever’ who says just let the action on the court do the talking, thanks for watching this afternoon guys, keep your shout-out requests coming”.

Solid performance from Lions & today Romero stepped up to drive a dagger into Sharks belly along with an outstanding 3rd quarter performance from Brandon Peel. With, Brandon, Ovie & Justin on court Lions look very composed & in control, while at least one more player steps up to give a very good performance each game (Jordan & Andre against Flyers, Romero against Sharks) we'll be quite difficult to beat. Just 18 more wins to guarantee another League title!! I was thinking of you during this game, after you said earlier this week you didn’t really rate Romero. He certainly earnt his money today. As, as always, did Peel after an uncharacteristically poor first half. And Soko is looking like he’ll be another reliable player game in game out (and so he should be if the rumours are true). Excellent start to the Championship season, only team that could possibly match it is Eagles now.

Apart from cutting to clips of the spectators while the game was in progress I think this was the best camera coverage of any game I've seen from BBL venues.

I’d like to think Eagles could match Lions but bear in mind we’ve only played the 2 bottom teams so far. Sheffield will tell us a lot more about how we match up next week, and I wouldn’t write Riders off yet either

Excellent start to the Championship season, only team that could possibly match it is Eagles now. Romero finally showed why Lions signed him!! Outstanding shooting display, pleased that I could be proved wrong. Perhaps he was playing for his spot?? I think Brandon is having to learn how to play with an inside player who demands so much of the ball, he's not used to it (neither are the rest of the team) so he's having to make some adjustments to his play but he's a high quality player in this league and is basketball smart so it won't be an issue. I was quite impressed how Vince kept juggling the line-up, playing Tew & Ovie together at times, then switching to 4 guards at other points, makes it difficult for the opposition to know the best defensive shape to take. Of course the down-side is sometimes we look a little unprepared as well but I'll take that. Jordan Whelan is a great addition off the bench, brings energy, commitment & no little amount of talent to the floor, he's starting to show the form he had at Worcester last season. Still think we're lacking on the defensive end, particularly inside where we're giving away far too many offensive rebounds & allowing too many drives to the basket.

and I wouldn’t write Riders off yet either Bearing in mind weve only lost one game that matters to anyone than that's not a bad idea!!

Romero looked pretty impressive to me in that game. Took a little while for our Joe Scott to produce the three pointers we knew he was capable of - settling into a new team is easy for some but for many it takes a bit of time.
