Seeing as the British Virgin Islsnds are situated right in the middle of the Caribbean I figured that reggae reggae sauce was a better fit than your hp. Remember you're dealing with an ex geography teacher here!!!

That's a pretty good sauce then - should probably take it at face value!!!!!
(I was so hoping you were going to come back with some really tenuous link between Dave Forrester, Rod Glasgow and a mutual adoration of reggae reggae sauce but I like your answer just as much!)

Bump! Anyone know or heard anything!? The guy in front of me at the bar at the game last week said FIBA are disputing his British citizenship as the British Virgin Islands aren't in Europe. Could be BS.

Bump! Anyone know or heard anything!? The guy in front of me at the bar at the game last week said FIBA are disputing his British citizenship as the British Virgin Islands aren't in Europe. Could be BS. Think that’s BS to be frank. Randy George was a British Virgin Islander and had no problems with his paperwork in his time with Sheffield and Glasgow. Same goes for Steve Parillon in his time in the BBL. As I understand it, British Virgin Islanders classify as British Overseas Territories citizens, similar to Gibraltarians/ Falkland Islanders etc. The territory itself isn’t part of the European Union and doesn’t follow the EU laws, but British Virgin Islanders themselves are deemed to be citizens of the EU as a result of their British citizenship. This situation is pretty common in France with guys from Overseas Territories such as Guadeloupe and Martinique coming over to play ball regularly in mainland France. Passport acquisition can take months, and in some cases longer, depending on the circumstances and if all of the paperwork is correctly filled out and processed efficiently. Most likely his paperwork is still being assessed and processed, or perhaps there has been a set-back in the application. If there has been a set-back there’s no telling how long it could take for him to receive his passport.

I despair! I haven't a clue what the hold-up is but I think the club has announced that he holds a BVI passport and, as such, he shouldn't be subject to UK immigration restrictions and should be entitled to a British passport.
We could certainly do with him given recent form.

Don't know if anyone else since Rodney on local news tonight. Turns out the hold up was that his fathers name (who is from the British Virgin Islands) wasn't actually on his birth certificate, so the hold up was going through the beauracy to have his birth certificate changed.
