Are you sniffing around to see who you'll be facing to plan your tactics eh, Jeff. Rumour has it that a couple of Latvian bigs are not too busy at the moment but the Nix management need to check Easyjet flights into Liverpool before a decision is made. Great shame that Cilo wasn't able to regain fitness enough to continue with us, great player and even greater gentleman, will be sadly missed by all at the Phoenix. Wonder if all the Eagles wounded will be fit, if not could be a close one as big Mike O. and Flannigan are playing well together hopefully well enough to limit Gettys.

Anybody think there is more to the Latinovic situation?

Anybody think there is more to the Latinovic situation? Any reason you’d say that? As I understand it he injured his toe returned home came back and injury flared up. Despite both Cilo and the french big leaving injured I’m pleased we actually tried to take a long term view and didn’t just bin them immediately. That’s a marked departure from the past when we were a revolving door for players. When we replace them I’ll be interested to see what with. We have ample cover for Cilo with Louis and Ben so we may benefit and have a more balanced roster

We have ample cover for Cilo with Louis and Ben so we may benefit and have a more balanced roster I just get the feeling something wasn’t quite right with him. The fact he went home when injured previously and now to leave with 4 months of the season left and reasoning being a toe injury seems strange to me. I might be completely wrong and not trying to start any rumours at all

Sadly I think the prognosis with his injury meant it was unlikely that he was going to play much of a part in the rest of the season. Following on from the situation that developed with Karim Mouliom the club didn't have too much of an option. A real shame as he was outstanding last season and signed again quickly for this season.

Crowds going home already, Eagles bringing the bench on with 2 mins to go and 18 behind. Nix emptying the bench too, Mark Rangley on!!!

Should of made it more comprehensive and guaranteed the head to head. wow your full of enthusiasm Slightly tongue in cheek after the time out vs Raiders but last quarter felt we could of got to 100 especially given only 9/17 from the line. Great effort given 6 man rotation

Well done Cheshire, a well deserved blowout which probably should've been by more. I think your guys had an eye on their next game, which is probably sensible with your short rotation. I was looking forward to seeing PJC (I love a good PG) but I was really impressed by your big man Ochereobia who dominated the paint and Mockford, who shot the lights out tonight.
As for Newcastle, it would've been nice if we could have made a game of it. I'm resigned to this season being a write off with this current roster. We have far too many passive players who just don't seem to care. There is no urgency at all and some of the players just don't look interested. When we were struggling in the second quarter and you look to the bench and see Williams wandering on to the floor, you just know nothing what is coming. It's so frustrating to watch players going through the motions.
It seems like we have too many so called 'professional players' who find themselves in a very comfortable position, and play with no pride, passion and determination unless things are running for us against weak opposition. Yes, you can blame the coaching but what about these players taking responsibility for themselves and at least leaving everything out there. We waited till the final two minutes to bring on two academy players and at least they play with some heart and urgency, moving the ball quickly.
Anyway, well done Phoenix. A great win, and with a 6 man rotation as well.

The Eagles can't take teams that play with a full court press. Sheffield do it very well and Nix did it brilliantly tonight. Well done to them especially only using 6 players. The team has become very one dimensional too with Fletch either looking to drive or find Getty’s for the post up every play. With no real threat from the perimeter bar Eddie Matthew who has always been a decent shooter but fair play to him finally looks a player this season. Also spot on above about desire, playing against 6 men drive to the basket and take the foul. Didn't see anyone doing it tonight. Apart from Eddie I think the only other player to hit a 3 was Schlitzer, his only points of the game. Another 0 game from Kai Williams.

That's a horrible result for eagles at home
Cross them off as having any potential to be league winners
I remember 2 years ago Fletch saying the key to our success is we need to be relentless every game
That all seems long forgotten now and empty words
He had me worried back then when he said it. Albeit briefly. Relentless never happened and sounds like it's not happening now

So I'm not sure talent at Eagles is that great now either in comparison to the past Even Fletch doesn't stand out for talent like he would have in the past And it may not just be about attitude with your squad It's not got as many young and energetic young athletes that other squads have got Plenty of experience but the legs may not be there any more Defoe, Lasker, Williams and even Fletch won't have anywhere near the energy they once had. Even if they want to be relentless.

Lots of quality US guards in BBL now who can win games for their respective teams on a good night.
Like Fletch used to do

Like Fletch used to do Fletch still a top guard, however since he's came back to the Eagles he's played in a much worse team both seasons and his had to change how he plays to accommodate. His shooting however seems non existant now which is worrying.
