Very early conversation but for me I'm going to say it's a 3 horse race.
CJ Gettys - Hes just not the same player as he was, playing some great basketball and clearly worked to try and get to the next level.
Ovie Soko - Still looks like hes in first gear, if he stays committed and raises the level to his best, were going to get to watch some amazing basketball
PJC - How he ended up in the bbl I'm still not sure, theres nothing he cant do and with the Cheshire system he gets to shine in all aspects
Thoughts?

Has to be PJC for all his basketball skills AND the fact he's been here all season. You could agree the other two are candidates for MVa lot of the season.

CJ creates a very one dimensional team and when the crap hits the fan nowhere to be seen

I'm talking league MVP here. All players have been here for the league have they not? Other competitions have their own MVP award

CJs stat lines look great but I agree with the above. It's like why Harden will never win MVP in the NBA. It has to be Soko, especially if Lions win the league again with arguably a worse all round team.

Lets see how far Bristol go because those two Thomas boys deserve to be in the conversation from what I've seen.

I would add Justin Robinson and Cartwright to the mix. And don't discount a Wolves player if they challenge for the league
Too early to be a three horse race
Some teams have only played four league games!

Worcester and Solent.
I thought it was a couple more than that.

Based on the season to date, I’d say Justin Robinson (for the three-peat). Closely followed by Soko and/or Peel. I know, call be biased, but what the hell thats my opinion.

Can't argue with any of these three, I'd also add Fletcher, Cartwright, Robinson & Amir Williams to the mix. On PJC, when you consider two years ago he was the starting PG on an Arizona team with talent like Deandre Ayton (no.1 draft pick), Allonzo Trier and Lauri Markkanen you get some perspective on just how lucky we are to have him in the BBL this year. Humble, team player to go with all of that talent too. Maybe I'm a little one-eyed given he's a Nix player, but I'm not sure I'd swap him for anyone in the BBL.

It's definitely a hell of a lot more than a three horse race at this stage. If Eagles finish top three it will probably be possible to make a case for Gettys. Numbers are likely to be there. If they finish, I dunno, 6th then he's not particularly interesting at all. Same could be said of countless other players currently. Skyler White is quietly putting up some excellent numbers in Surrey and Scorchers aren't looking like whipping boys at the moment. Until we have a clearer idea of how the league table's going to look come April there's really not much to debate. Lions are going to be there or there abouts. Raiders and Giants aren't. Doubt many could confidently predict where the rest are going to finish.

'Quietly' in the sense that I don't think he's been talked about much. Not in a conversation that's actually about basketball anyway. If he has then I've not seen it. I know nothing of his personality. All I know is that through seven league games he's averaging 20 points, 9 rebounds, 2 blocks and 3 3PM per game and shooting 41% from deep. You'd want those numbers on your fantasy team. And Scorchers are above .500. It's entirely possible that neither of these things happen but if he maintains a stat line in that ballpark over the remainder of the season and Scorchers finish top half he'd surely have to be viewed as a contender by anyone taking a remotely scientific approach to this.
Point is simply that there are a bunch of guys currently putting up good individual numbers. That will still be the case come the end of the season. How their teams perform relative to expectations is ultimately what will determine who the contenders are. And we still have relatively little idea where 75% of the teams are going to finish.
