Biggest League Game of the year so far
Must win for Riders I feel. It's going to be very tough though
Lions win this and they are looking very good for winning the league

They have the points in the bag, which counts for a lot in a busy schedule as we start the turn towards the finishing straight. Just strengthened their team as well. I'm concerned about our ability to dominate the paint with our forwards.

It's interesting that really we aren't in a position to promote Soko to our fans How would we know whether he is going to be present at the game or not? I can't imagine Lions would tell us and could we believe them anyway. Preparing for a game knowing whether he is playing or not would be very useful to us. I guess we have to assume he plays and prepare accordingly. However, not sure we can really promote him being at the game as we have no control or knowledge of that. Players are injured and miss games all the time. But with Soko it's a bit different. If fans are paying just to see him and maybe meet him then they won't mind if he's injured as long as he's there. But if they bought tickets and he's not even there we could cause more bad feeling than good feeling etc. I think we've done the right thing by not over promoting Soko or saying much about him at all. As him being there is out of our control. Will be interesting tonight to gauge how many fans are there just for him. What's his impact been like on other away game crowds? |

Take away Soko and Lions return to being a circus with the puppet master Vince running the big top show.
Apart from a bit of a wobble in the 3rd I thought we were superb throughout and definitely had more desire to win,
What the hell was Vince thinking finishing the game with big joe and Lockhart, two bench warmers.
Let’s hope we can kick on from this, Get Cartwright fit and climb the table.....

But what a signing Corey Johnson is going to be for us. Once again he was a leader out there when it mattered. |

They at least tried to involve some other players later on and looked better when they did. We definitely wanted it more than Lions. |

Beaten by the better team over 40 minutes but if Peel had sunk all 3 of his ft's in the final quarter to make it a 3 point game, I think we would have had the momentum to go on & win, but he didn't & we didn't.
Too much went through Ovie early on, we HAVE to play as a team if we're going to win against teams like Riders.
