Its 5 o'clock somewhere, right ? Lol Trust me - you can get so many things done in those early hours Plus when you go to sleep at night you fall to sleep better and deeper because you get up early Everything he says in that video works I'm asleep at 11pm and up at 4.59am every day Bit of fitness Work on important projects uninterrupted Get ahead of the game on stuff It's the most productive time of the day for me and really sets me up well for the rest of the day

Im also a member of the 5am club...its better. You get stuff done. Told you guys Before I joined I would be awake til midnight and later watching TV or doing nothing useful really Now I'm asleep by 11pm. Deep sleep because my body clock has changed and I'm up easily at 4.59am every day. I even have time for breakfast or going for walks (when I want to). All before most people have woken up. Check the video out. He can explain it far better than me. Lots of people around the world do this now. Loads of videos about it on YouTube. Really improved my lifestyle and productivity And I'm the fittest I've been for ten years plus by some distance

That's the image of the medal. It's not the Commonwealth Games as they didn't take place in Edinburgh in 1991. It's something called the Commonwealth Basketball Championships I've googled those and the only thing I can find on the internet is a business that looks like it set up just for that tournament and then dissolved without filing any accounts TBF on Twitter he doesn't say it's a Commonwealth Games Gold Medal. He just says he's found his Gold Medal for basketball in his mum's stuff I'm assuming he played for some kind of national representative team in that tournament. But nothing official or recognised by anyone else (unless anyone knows different and remembers this tournament?) He's wrote at least one book and apparently he never talks about what he actually achieved in terms of basketball success in that book I guess it helps him for people to think he's achieved more than he hasAnd being deliberately vague obviously helps because it makes him look like a basketball player without pesky f*ckers like us picking up on his career stats of 1.2ppg, 0.7apg, 1.3rpg in an average of 9.8 minutes over two seasons. Or whatever.
If he played basketball at a reasonable level 25 or so years ago, it's nice. It makes no difference to running a club now, though. Getting into a decent venue is the key. I can lend him a couple of National Cup/D1 championship winning medals if he thinks it'll help. The motivational speaking and general hype leave me cold. I get up at random times. I live dangerously

If you start getting up at 4.59am each day you might still make the playoffs

See I don't see getting up at 5 and going to bed at 11 as motivational speech. I see it as a change of lifestyle and a different (and by the sounds of it positive) approach to your day to day existence.
TBH it sounds pretty good - I'm up at half 5 anyway so I may well give it a go - whats half an hour between friends?

It’s the comment of “some dreams never die” that stands out for me.
It sounds like owners before (and very recently) who get excited about owning a club until **** hits the fan financially.
Glad to be wrong as if successful it means Giants survive instead of fold.

In the town centre, there is a mural/hall of fame type thing with pictures of sports stars from the local area. The likes of Lewis Hamilton etc. Steve Darlow (ex Ware Rebels/Leicester Riders) is featured, and he is described as an England Basketball International and 1991 commonwealth gold medalist (or similar). So there was definitely some kind of commonwealth basketball tournament in 1991 featuring a team representing England.

TBH it sounds pretty good - I'm up at half 5 anyway so I may well give it a go - whats half an hour between friends? There's a lot more to it than just getting up at 5am. Lots more ideas and tips about how to make the most of the extra time. But if you are doing 5.30am as it is - the impact won't be as big of course. Once I've done some fitness - I combine getting up at 5am with spending the first 90 minutes searching and googling for new customers for businesses I own and contacting them by email etc. The most important thing I could do but never have time for in the normal day.

Yes yes, but what team did he play for? Oldham Celtics, averaging 1.6pts in 10mins per game over 2 seasons. I think it's somewhat stretching the definition of proffesional basketballer 🤔

Anyway if he's around he could register on here and set the record straight. He might be genuine guy for all we know

I suppose we could carry on this conversation for a couple of hours but not longer cos everyone will be in bed after 11 o clock. Seriously only having a bit of fun, does sound like a innovative lifestyle and a change of focus, not for me though thanks very much!
2 pages on a thread about Giants and only mentioned a couple of times, 5am club doesn't do well on focusing on the subject under discussion.
