Interesting. What exactly led to it then? A disagreement about club direction? “Corporate and soulless” surely getting more corporate and sponsors will allow more investment? I like the atmosphere at games but it does sometimes feel like im surrounded by a family day out than sports fans. If it’s about refusal to deviate from the status quo and try develop the team with more of a business focus then maybe it’s for the best, however I do think there needs to be a balance. Tbh I would argue its at best 50/50 family day out / basketball

I've been there when I've seen it marketed as a 'matinee performance'!!!! It's not full of sports fans but neither are any other BBL venue. They've found a way of attracting fans & producing a good quality 'event'.

There is more happening than signings the beating heart and soul of the club has been forced out looks like a takeover ..those who attend know who I mean it's sad I always thought the heart and soul of any club was it's fan base. Without them you have no club. Pretty sure the club will survive with a change in the board 🙄

I’m merely speculating if they have aspirations of Europe then attracting a fan base that is more geared to the sport than the experience will help get people on seats during the week, such as riders struggled with during their campaign. I must stress I am no expert but on an “outside looking in” comparison of European competition (Domestic or international), they seem to have a more basketball centric fan base. The new investors have experience of running a team or at least being involved with a team that competes at a significantly higher level than us. Maybe they know a thing or two

Isiah Walker next.. but who the hell writes the press releases?
"The Plymouth Raiders are delighted to welcome Isiah Walker back to continue in his feature to the programme as the club look to support his prospectus."!!!
Really? What does any of that mean?

Nice to see he can continue his education and also get more playing time with the NBL and BUCS teams but come on isn’t really worthy of a player announcement. In my opinion other than Lawrence , Hamilton and McGill the rest of the signings have been average and less than exciting are we even going to fill our import slots ? We need to if the club owners expect the club to compete

Word on the street is Raiders only have one more signing to come and that’s it. I really hope this isn’t true.

If that is true won’t have filled our quota of import slots lack of size inside and no more depth than previous seasons . Sad if so

Player thought. Turkish teams always have a base of good local players and then have 3 Us imports. Could the owner want the same setup for Raiders?

Richard thought. The Cigar picture may have not gone down well with the new owners.

Am I aloud to ask what kind of Storm. A couple of players/podcasters took exception to some fans moaning about re-signing Walker, Orlan being the main one I saw Not really sure I’d call it a storm though really

Plymouth fans are obviously waiting for some new big announcements now we’ve got some money to spend and they go and announce Walker. I think they should’ve announced a job lot for existing players first then started to drop the new announcements we have been and are waiting for.

I think letting Hassan go was big for the fans and they have not announced his replacement yet. Poor communication, but there are a lot of Bigs still out there waiting for a team in Europe. Ohh are we still part of that club?

So has Richard gone? Will we know the reasons. If he has gone thank you Richard for your faith in Raiders a few years back by financially investing in the club. Bravo

Bravo Looks like he has left Facebook (or blocked me, doubt that) but his last tweet seemed to be about mental health and directly tagged the new guy Enver. Hope he’s ok as I know lots of people struggling right now.
