Why? If you are disputing it in a game what's wrong with voicing your thoughts/disputes socially. There were certainly plenty in the stands on Saturday. One woman very very vocal, lots standing up to shout at the refs (when they didnt like the decisions). Must say I was fairly happy with the refs on Saturday, in all but one occasion, when Rob had a good rant, waving his arms around and this still continued after the ref spoke to him. I'm informing you now the ref wouldn't have been as lenient with Atiba and we have the same 3 refs on a regular basis. I am upset about it, not really, am I ranting, nah. Probably wouldn't have mentioned it if the subject of refs hadn't been brought up. Who knows if it had changed the game. We could possibly have been a point closer adding to a real tense finish. Tbh I'm dont think many fans would grumble too much when they win most of their games. Even the odd loss might be forgiven unless it went down to a real horrific decision/call. I'm saying disagreeing with refs during the game is no prob and part of the game. Anything you can do to try and influence them is fine. That's part of being a sports fan. Once the game is over and you've won or lost that's when it's time to stop. As you can't do anything about it etc. Wasted energy etc. But isn't that part of all games/sports. The game doesnt end at the final whistle, fans talk about the game long after, in the pubs or wherever be it basketball or football or other; was it a penalty, a sending off, yellow card, bad ref etc etc. This is a forum after all, where else better to discuss such things. Unless we go to VAR and then all that talk/debate about THAT penalty turns to the rights and wrongs of VAR itself. Dont actually think we're far from basketball refs reviewing the game/calls on monitors. They have been doing it in the qualifiers and even in our games this season with YouTube you get commentators looking at calls a second time to let us have their opinions/thoughts on a call. Coming back to Rob on Saturday, you are always going to get fans discussing and disagreeing about inconsistency of refs when they can see so easily 'coaches' get away with some actions/reactions but yet their own coach gets a T for less and a lot sooner. That's not taking anything from the game on Saturday which I enjoyed despite our defeat and I watched quite relaxed knowing we were up against the might of the Riders missing our main guard on a hiding to nothing. Not unlike some of the rider fans giving us some strange looks whilst we were in the middle of them cheering the sharks on.

I was sitting behind the Riders bench/fans yesterday and I wouldn't say the complaints were non-existent from the stand. But I do want to make the point that Rob P wasn't going crazy on the sideline as he usually does when things aren't going his way. The least passionate/vociferous I've ever seen him – including when coasting to a win! Soko has been starting on the bench since the Newcastle game on 7 February. I've heard it's his own idea. I'm not sure of the logic behind it. Those were a couple of observations I made at the game yesterday too. I kept looking at Rob expecting him to be going ballistic, but he wasn’t. A far cry from a couple of seasons back where he got ejected from a games against Lions. Is he a changed man, or did the game get to a point where he just new there was no chance of them winning this one? Regarding Soko, I’m surprised to see him becoming more and more a bench player. My personal assumption is that Vince (and perhaps Soko himself) feels the starting five is strong enough, so better tactically to keep him in reserve for when he’s needed, which yesterday he sort of wasn’t. Ovie is undoubtedly talented, however we seem to become less of a "Team" when he's on court. That's not all his fault, his fellow players have to take some responsibility & provide more options for him when he has the ball, there are more than a few occasions when he has the ball & everyone watches him, perhaps they don't think he's going to pass but they won't know if they aren't in a position to receive the ball. Without him we are more team orientated we still need to find a way to fully integrate him into the team. I thought it was interesting that Nigel Lloyd was somewhat critical of him in the commentary on Sunday.

Scrap all that’s been said about Lions playing superbly and Riders looking down and out, The game was played on the 1st of March and Rob won coach of the month for February, I’ve always said that award is a curse.....
