I’d agree - I could imagine a GM or something coming in to look after the business side so Vince can just coach, but I’d be surprised if ownership is affected. Nothing on the Lions site/Twitter that I could see about a change.

Doesn’t sound right to me either, Vince has always had a reputation for not wanting to share ownership of Lions, let alone fully relinquish it. So I also suspect he’s just hired a GM to run the business side of things to allow him to focus on the coaching side of things. Sort of the reverse of what he did a few seasons ago when he brought in a couple of new head coaches. But here’s a question... what costs more, a good GM or a good Head Coach? Going by this I’m guessing a good GM, but perhaps he just wants to ensure stability in regards to the on court set up?

I've taken a look and since Xmas on Companies House there was a charge registered against the club by a guy called Peter Michael Sugarman
Who was showing as a shareholder albeit Vince had more shares than him
Only a few days ago this charge was released
I don't know really what it all means etc
But if there is a new guy its likely either Peter Sugarman who is now calling the shots or he's been involved in bringing someone else in to call the shots
If the club is always losing money at some stage something has to change.
There is a tweet about today's game on Peter Sugarman's Twitter page
I remember in the past Vince did the opposite and brought in a coach so he could focus on running the business side of the club.
I'm guessing Peter might have put some money in to bail the club out and wanted some changes in the way it was run as a result.
Complete guess though
He may just have found new investment for the club etc
But he's involved in something that's been going on there recently
(edit. None of the above would change the fact vince still owns the club though)

When a charge is released it means whatever item/property that was used for the charge is not now being used for the charge. But as I've said, I could be totally wrong. And it clearly is Sugarman not Sprogis!!

Peter Sprogis wanted his money back he invested, assume Vince didn't have it, so Sprogis put a charge on the club for the outstanding loan/debt. Heard about this a few months ago, it was Sprogis not sugarman when I looked at companies house back then, feel for Vince but it could end up being a blessing in disguise.

Peter Sugarman is the chief operating officer if a capital investment company, thus doesn't look such a bad thing for the club, hope Vince gets to be involved still going forward, he created the club many years ago and worked tirelessly over the years to keep it going

And it clearly is Sugarman not Sprogis!! Peter Sprogis was a director in the club. But he resigned in late 2019. He shows as owning zero shares in the club. (He may have in the past) Peter Sugarman is a shareholder now. Not sure how long he has been

Like the banks do. All I know is there has been recent activity going on and Peter Sugarman is part of it

Sprogis owned shares last year but doesn't any more
Sugarman owns shares now as does Keyvan sehri(who also didn't own shares last year) Sehri appears to be a physical trainer/head of performance at Lions?
It's complicated on there as there are A shares and B shares owned in Lions now
An accountant could likely shed some light on it
It's re-assuring that whatever Sugarman's involvement he appears to be a fan of the club as he tweeted today about the Lions game

Just reading a preview of today's Riders game against the Lions on the Riders web site and was surprised by this......
"Head Coach Vince Macaulay has recently given up his ownership position with the club, to focus on his court side job."
Is this common knowledge?....When did it happen?.....Have I missed something?
It's not on the website any more? There is still a preview of the game but no mention of Vince in there?

And according to companies house Vince owns the most shares in Lions still so unless something is about to change on there - there may well be nothing to see here
