Are you sure you didnt imagine it? Ha ha.....no.......copied&pasted it from the Riders web site article. I think it's more like the GM position has changed hands as others suggest above. Unless it's all entirely incorrect.

Vince some how survives. He appare tly did or does owe players money as a few posters have said. Yes it is his club but he seems the type to not accept help/doesn't 2ant anyone interfering. He seems to have got it better on court, soko helps with that, i just feel he hasn't worked the commercial side and if it hadn't been for the soko effect where would lions be?

Well as it stands Soko doesn't own the club nor have any shares in it! He may get paid by the minute though based on only playing 8 minutes yesterday!

Peter Sugarman is the chief operating officer if a capital investment company, thus doesn't look such a bad thing for the club, hope Vince gets to be involved still going forward, he created the club many years ago and worked tirelessly over the years to keep it going Sounds like a sweet deal for Vince

Sprogis owned shares last year but doesn't any more Sugarman owns shares now as does Keyvan sehri(who also didn't own shares last year) Sehri appears to be a physical trainer/head of performance at Lions? It's complicated on there as there are A shares and B shares owned in Lions now An accountant could likely shed some light on it It's re-assuring that whatever Sugarman's involvement he appears to be a fan of the club as he tweeted today about the Lions game Just to add the little that I know… Peter Sprogis initially owned a 10% share of Lions in late 2016/early2017, that increased to a 20% share in mid-2017. Apparently he never wanted anything like a majority ownership, he just wanted a challenge after being absence from the world of sports business for a few years. And being a basketball fan this was a good fit (I believe Vince approached him). He’s a multi-millionaire, and wasn’t involved in Lions to make money. He was happy to invest and happy to potentially lose all of that initial investment, but not happy to continuously invest beyond that. His goal was to grow Lions into a team that played in the FIBA Champions League (but not the Euroleague, he was quite clear about that). I suspect that after 3 years his initial investment was gone and Lions aren’t in Europe so he simply walked away. For want of a better phrase, it was a millionaires hobby that ran its course. I don’t know anything about the Peter Sugarman deal. I suspect it’s something similar to the above if I’m honest. But if it brings investment into the club, helps out with the marketing/business side of things in some way, and allows Vince to retain a majority ownership, then it all sounds positive for Lions I guess.

I heard £2k, but there was definitely a pre-Vince era.
As an aside, could a mod correct the spelling of his name in the title. It's bugging me.

Once again Jersey, you are being a complete tool, Vince has kept the Lions going for decades in one form or another, you really are a duck which I look forward to telling you face to face I no doubt will bump into you at some point this season. On a side note, how are Leopards doing since they strengthened the squad with bbl players?

Peter Sprogis wanted his money back he invested, assume Vince didn't have it, so Sprogis put a charge on the club for the outstanding loan/debt. Heard about this a few months ago, it was Sprogis not sugarman when I looked at companies house back then, feel for Vince but it could end up being a blessing in disguise. I'm still not convinced a "charge" is what it 1st seems. From some minor investigation, it seems like a loan to me against the club, it's not anyone asking for money & Sugarman has organised the loan, which could of course be as payment for a share of the club.

I copied his name from the Riders web site....
It is spelt like that on the BBL web site too.

The bloke who appears to have a typo in his own username and can't spell mine, either. I know facts aren't your thing, but are you sticking to your claim that Vince founded club currently known as London Lions?
I'm still waiting for you to reproduce my claim that Zaire Taylor plays with a bottle of whisky inside him. I bet he's delighted that you've decided to out him.
We're 1-0 in March. Thanks for the interest, irrelevant though it is to this thread.

Good old Wikipedia. I’m fairly sure Vince himself has said he paid £10,000 for the franchise, along with inheriting all outstanding debts (of which there were a lot), but I guess we’ll never know the actual figure.

Indeed, the figure he paid is only part of the story if there were debts as well.
But, according to my deluded handsome man, none of this happened anyway.
