The Scottish government have advised today that they will ban all gatherings of more than 500 from Monday. That affectively means Rocks will have to limit the number of people at their home games or play them behind closed doors.

Yep, just seen the news
On a different note, where does this leave the Trophy final ?
I'd expect that more than 500 at a final ... what happens next ?

On the basis that Sunday comes before Monday I can't see the trophy final being effected unless there are more developments in the situation in the next couple of days.

It's a typical politician soundbyte without substance behind it.
So nobody even knows exactly what it means yet
Is that indoor or outdoor events or both??
She's said something and now everybody's waiting for clarification of what exactly is impacted or not!
"Following the recommendation from the Scottish Government today to step up the response and restrict public gatherings of 500 or more that require mass police and ambulance presence, we are seeking further clarification and awaiting guidance from Cobra"
How many police and ambulances attend Rocks games?
How many attend outside a theatre?
If it's stress on the police and ambulance forces that's the concern than there's loads of events every week with 500 plus that are just covered by st John's ambulance if even that
What about charity fun runs etc?
Nicola Sturgeon has handled this announcement atrociously
She's caused more questions than answers
Has it even been made official or is she just thinking about it?
I've watched the Boris Johnson press conference today with two medical advisers very much part of it. At least with those guys there's a plan and logic being used and explained
Everyone else seems to be doing knee jerk stuff that can do as much harm as good
I said earlier today this is very serious. It is. The one thing I'm confident of is the British Government will make the right decisions at the right times.
And Sturgeon should follow their lead IMO.
Instead of adding in her own random stuff

You know that means letting 95% of the country get this virus, right? And, on the basis of existing mortality rates, a million people will die.And Sturgeon should follow their lead IMO. Look folks, this isn't a great situation for us to be in as a country, but really you need to chill. It's just basketball and if shutting down the league is part of the solution so be it.

R u going to the final 2nfr Nah, I'll probably watch it on the old tele/interweb thingy Watching Eagles get beat by an BBL team is tough, Watching then get beat by a NBL team is... I suppose in many ways its a win-win situation for us... If we win, we get a Trophy !! If we lose, we get a new coach !! A bit harsh, I know, but just me being honest GO EAGLES

Ice hockey has cancelled all competition as of today. British basketball beginning to stand out as slow to react to the situation.

On the ceasation of gatherings over 500 how do you determine that as a critical number?

On the secession of gatherings over 500 how do you determine that as a critical number? It's a guess, and non-scientific. It's also only advisory.

The only reason games are going ahead this weekend is the greed of the BBL. They don’t want to refund the Trophy final tickets.

Shocking to think that BBL will still stage games during this crisis when all of basketball has taken a pause. This will lead to their demise. Total lack of leadership. Sad.

And Rocks have travelled all the way to Plymouth for tonight's game but then are on the way home 'cos they aren't playing Bristol tomorrow. Bit surprised BBLtook so long to decide what was going to happen anyway. Not too much common sense there!!
