Just been announced by the Worcester Wolves that they are helping Amir Williams, Mark Hughes, Cortez Edwards and Julius van Sauers travel home. I'm sure that other clubs will announce similar departures in the coming day's. Understandable with the CV19 travel restrictions. Sad news. 😢😢

Cheshire have done the same. Mark Woods reported yesterday that 3 additional clubs on top of the Eagles had agreed to send players home today.

Depending on how long ot takes for the BBL club owners/chairman to meet and disuss what happens next,
I would hope we would expect an announcement later today or sometime this week.
Crazy times for all of us at the moment.

Wouldn't it be funny if the league didn't bother cancelling?
I applaud all the clubs who've helped players in doing this especially since they don't have 100% confirmation of what's going on (guess they have an idea though?)

Allowing players to end their contracts early in the event no more basketball is played takes away a big chunk of financial liability for clubs. If the league resumes I'm sure most squads could get 6 or 7 players to finish the season out.

An interesting exercise is to examine the rosters of the clubs, taking out all the imports, and judge how the league might go then.

An interesting exercise is to examine the rosters of the clubs, taking out all the imports, and judge how the league might go then. You'd have to put Lions as favourite with Robinson and Soko, Peel provably staying too to finish his Uni course. Plus other solid Brit role players. But conversely they also have the biggest financial liability I would imagine, particularly if they are being held to bookings made in advance at the Copper Box which were reliant on ticket sales to pay for.
