Your link doesn't work. Something I have experience in Should be here Full accounts January 2019. There are more recent ones due to be announced in the next month or two. But those ones show teams owed over £360k.

Thanks for the summary. So the BBL has a lot of debt, but the vast majority of that is historical. Since 2016 it's been treading water, which is good (it's not losing money at the rate it once was) and bad (it's not getting out of the debt either). Generally I think that's more positive than negative though. But this is all based on the numbers available as of January 2019. We've got no idea, yet, of what the past 16 months have done to the situation and I think that's where the worry is.

Although it's fair to say clubs don't have a lot to gain from calling in the debts and potentially bankrupting the BBL
They do if any are about to go bust themselves I would suggest. In fact I don't think they would have any choice.
All those debts will show as an asset in each clubs balance sheet and when push comes to shove the clubs or should I say liquidators at those clubs would attempt to call the debts to help cover some of the debts the club's owe their own creditors
Any liquidators of clubs would not be doing their duty correctly for the creditors of each club if they didn't call those debts in
The question in the accounts about whether the debts are payable on demand is a crucial one. They are showing as debts owed after more than one year in the accounts. Although that appears to have been challenged. (Could it have been Leeds who challenged that?) They may well have been paid what they were owed if it was them?
I'm just speculating there though.
The reason it's crucial is I believe if those debts can be claimed back on demand rather than after a year then I believe that would mean the BBL was insolvent and it would be illegal for it to continue
(Albeit insolvency rules are being stretched a bit under Covid)
Happy to be corrected on any of the above as I'm not a qualified accountant but just giving my take on the above at first glance

I think the notes in the most recent accounts say the BBL is confident that no club can suddenly ask for their cash back. They appear to have defeated such a demand in 2018. I'm accountant, either, and we can only work on the most recent numbers, but I don't think things are as bad Low wants to paint. He does have an axe to grind.

I think you're being over dramatic. All clubs need to do is invite Dominic Cummings and the rules won't apply

In your opinion. Even the article you've shared says things like " gives us more energy than ever to start planning for an even better 2020-21 season" and " The 2020/21 EuroLeague and EuroCup seasons are scheduled to start on October 1 and September 30, 2020, respectively".

What do you expect them to say.......their strategy is to keep telling people that the show will go on, until it doesn’t! Sound familiar PLBBA?

Yeah, euroleague is just like ron Scott's fantasy. No wonder you lack any credibility. Is the sky still up there?

Yeah, euroleague is just like ron Scott's fantasy. No wonder you lack any credibility. Is the sky still up there? You are right Hersey. But still there will be no basketball so what will you do? Do you have a job? Or is Leopards your only thing? Just asking.
