As I draw an end to my negative week, lets look at your worst ever coach. Standard rule of them having to coached your team during their time in the bbl
Easy one for us Johnny White. While he led us to a trophy final, he also led us to the worst final loss in bbl history.

I’m going to throw another Plymouth coaches name into the ring for this category- Jay Marriott.
He was so woefully out of his depth at BBL level. His incessant hiring of American assistant coaches (one of which he hired as a player-assistant at age 37, after he hadn’t played competitive basketball at a professional level for years) smacked of incompetence to me.
I remember that he held a disasterous ‘open house’ meeting with the players, which resulted in at least one player walking out on the club and vocally questioning his coaching ability.
In his two seasons the revolving door was also in full swing (I appreciate that the ownership has a part to play in that too, but the teams direction and on court performance wouldn’t have persuaded the players to stick around), looked constantly out of sorts and as a result didn’t make the playoffs.

If the dude was a true American I wonder how he got a work permit. Maybe Mr Potato Head was involved long before we'd heard of him
For Leopards in the BBL, our last coach - Mike Taylor. He'd spent time with Robbie Pears at Chester but appeared to have learned nothing.
I wrote this in the history
. And I was being bloody kind. Our mild mannered supporters' club chairman commented "if he says 'I like where we're at one more time I'll stick his head up his bum. He appeared to spend more time promoting his "Mike T" brand/internet site than coaching, and to this day I can't explain why me & Simon Mattick (the PA man) talked the club ownership out of firing him and replacing him with Rod Brown & Yorick. He was a goon.

A goon who went on to have a pretty decent career. Maybe he took it out on the Leopards to get it out the system. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Taylor_(basketball_coach)

We hired him from coaching ncaa2 so I'm guessing that would give him his permit credentials?

It would. IMO, clubs shouldn't be allowed to bring in assistant coaches on work permits (though I guess they'd have named him coach, and let Marriott be the real coach) as it certainly doesn't fit the criteria that a club can't get someone from the UK to fill the role.

Can’t get governing body endorsements for assistant coaches.

That summer still makes us laugh around this way. Kid starts a random 'academy' at a leisure centre in Warrington, rents a house, fills it with random americans and this coach Mika + draws in an assortment of slightly gullible brits then plays friendlies/gets visits from most of the local BBL teams all coordinated by a (probably) fake Facebook profile who made some utterly outlandish statements. Then, when we think it can't get any odder, Leeds sign the coach and a few of the players! This was the apex of UK basketball 'academies' in my eyes.

That was absolutely wild - I remember it well and Id spoken with a few prominent faces round our ways about it. I could be wrong, but Im fairly certain Chris Alexander got a gig with Sheffield Sharks going through whatever they had going on there. I knew Yanks paid through the nose for it.

Could well have done, I felt sorry for the Americans they'd suckered in, couple of them were nice guys and didn't deserve it. Guy we strongly suspect behind it all had previously talked about having 'five future pros' on the team he was coaching in local centre U17s? I think. They had a losing record. All the kids were playing at right age group. League was stronger back then and were some future pros knocking about but not on that team...

Tim Darling. Big in Hong Kong before Leicester and big in Hong Kong again once he departed Leicester Don’t know what your talking about, Tim has a 100% record 0-15, How on earth was Billy Mimms going to compete with that when he was brought in.

As Billy lost something like 50 out of 51 in 1 stretch, I'd say he gave it a bloody good go
