I'm very upset and sad to report that Ian Davidson (Riders Commercial Manager) has passed away.
He was a genuinely lovely guy. As anyone on here who has met him over the years will testify. A staunch supporter of all sport. And just a really great guy. He was so nice to everyone he met. You only have to look at the Twitter reaction to this news to see how well liked he was
He was in the process of writing a book of the full history of Leicester Riders.
Ian Davidson @iandavidsonstat This is Ashley Ian's son. It is with great sadness I have to report Ian's passing late evening June 30th June 2020 aged 63. I am sure the kind and generous nature he had impacted many lives

Wow. Got to know him a little at the back end of 2018 and was a great guy, really passionate about the team and the city altogether. Saw him at the Bristol vs. Worcester final a few months back and was able to catch up briefly too. Genuinely surprised at this and hope the family are doing okay in the circumstances.
One of the good guys up there for sure.

Dreadfully sad news. Ian was so enthusiastic and knowledgable about everything sport. Drove him to a couple of Eagles games - just couldn’t shut him up! A lovely man who will be terribly missed. RIP Ian, sleep tight. ❤️🖤🏀🏆

RIP Ian, sleep tight. ❤️🖤🏀🏆 I spoke to Russell today. He said Ian had just finished the book. So a nice epitaph. I'll definitely buy it. Not sure if i ever met him, but terribly sad news

Tragic. He will be missed at Riders, that's for sure.

Should say that Ian used to follow this forum avidly. He also used to post on here himself a while ago. Can't remember his user name though.
