I very much doubt it. Leicester is a well run club and I have every confidence that the management team will make the right decisions and will survive. And I’m sure that they will not have made signings they can’t afford and which will put the long term future of the club in jeopardy. And the same applies to Newcastle. If you read what Russ has said. He's made a budget having planned for the league to start with fans allowed to attend. And he's now saying if that can't happen we will run out of money in October. As I've said elsewhere the hardest thing for many in sport and hospitality and entertainment industries right now is being able to make a reliable cash flow plan. It's out of the owners control. Riders (and other clubs I imagine) will have had to guess when crowds will be allowed to return, guess what capacity they can operate at and finally guess how many fans will actually buy tickets and want to attend Based on that they will have made offers to players. I'm sure those offers are with caveats about the restart of the league and fans being allowed in If any BBL club has promised anything to players without a restart as part of the deal then they must be crackers of have more money than sense

Will probably shrink off the plane. Someone else published saying he is 6'5

Jackson seems like a pretty decent recruit. Certainly capable of getting a shot away quickly while under pressure. Will we even get to see him play though? All feels a bit surreal atm.

Everyone's buzzing about this one then...
I'm actually fairly impressed. An efficient high volume scorer in college, playing mid-level NCAA1. First team all conference as a senior. Got a gig in a pretty decent pro league as a rookie and seemed to do OK. Teammate of DeAndre Burnett at one point last season. Genuinely think he looks a pretty good signing... by non-Lions standards. Not terribly fussed whether he's 6'5" or 6'7". It doesn't have particularly significant implications in terms of his ability to play SG.

Looks another really good signing. Played at the same college as Dirk Williams, playing 2 years with him. Depending on how you look at it he either had a more impressive or a significantly more impressive college career. So if he can do the same in the BBL i'd take that! Looked at an early entry in to the draft. Didn't work out. Played G league. Got a call up to the T-Wolves on a 10 day contract although he didn't play. Assuming he can make it to Leicester without injuring himself he should make for a pretty exciting addition to the front court and a nice compliment to our other bigs

Subject to the league restarting.

So that being said, how manu nba players will we see this season?!?!?

Don't think it's actually true that this guy signed a 10 day contract with the Timberwolves. I've found a piece stating that he signed an 'Exhibit 10' deal but I don't think that's the same thing. Not something I'd previously heard of but sounds like some sort of training camp deal that incentivises players to stay on with a team's G League affiliate in the very, very likely event that they don't make the main roster.
Definitely a pretty big reach to call this guy an ex-NBA player I think but I do agree he looks a promising addition. Very good college career. Productive starter all four years at UAB. Shot blocking numbers in particular are eye popping. 7th leading shot blocker in all of NCAA1 as a junior. 2x C-USA Defensive Player of the Year. Clearly very long and athletic and looks to be a pretty decent perimeter shooter. Might have expected a bit more from him in Germany last season but his per minute production was reasonably decent. Looks like he could potentially bring a combination to the table that we don't see too often in the BBL... and be a very entertaining watch in the process

Yeah you're right. I read in one article that he'd signed a short term contract with the Timberwolves and wrongly assumed that exhibit 10 was just the official name for a 10 day contract. Still a promising sign that they saw enough in him to give him this type of deal. There's quite a detailed article on him on draftexpress from the beginning of his junior year where they have him as the #5 NBA prospect outside the major conferences. The fact that they had him ranked on a list like this and bothered to write about him says a lot for his talent level. Most BBL signings don't have anything on there other than basic details. Think all three of the new Americans, if we do sign Matthews, look pretty high quality. On paper think this looks like one of the strongest and well balanced teams we've put together. Will obviously have to see how that translates but if we can get everyone here without injuries and manage to get the season played I feel like this team will be pretty good.

Agreed. He's never signed a NBA contract, he's a D League player. Thst doesn't mean he's not a good signing, but nht everyone can have an NBA player.

An "Exhibit 10" contract is a contract between an NBA team and an undrafted free agent, as defined by the current NBA Collective Bargaining Agreement, so it is, by definition, an NBA contract! www.12up.com/posts/nba-exhibit-10-contract-explained-01ddxzvtfz20"An Exhibit 10 contract is a one-year deal worth the minimum salary that guarantees the player will receive a camp invite. Fall, for instance, can either have his Exhibit 10 converted into a two-way contract, or will be waived. If he is waived, the player will be offered $50,000 to sign with the G League affiliate of whomever waved them. Provided he stays on the roster for 60 days, he will earn that $50,000 bonus. The Exhibit 10 contract was created to incentivize players to stay in the G League as opposed to going abroad."

Tell you what, Riders WBBL side looks formidable this season. Retained a core of last season's roster and added some very promising names.

Not sure it's possible to regret something that wasn't your decision to make. I regret the Tories won the last election... Again, you don't seem to understand context. You can be disappointed they won, or regret not convincing more people to vote Labour but you can't regret that they won.

Can you regret opening a Riders thread about signings when you inevitably find the conversation has changed to some other rubbish?
