Hearing a very strong rumour Josh has joined the flyers Hopefully Plymouth sign Andrew Lawrence. I think they have, that’s why he’s gone. I heard he’s not prepared to ‘share’ his minutes.

Surely any bbl player or a player looking to play in the UK must consider Bristol being right up there with one of the most attractive clubs to join look so professional and well run in a great city, also helps his good mate vigor has been there for a few years!! Obviously London sticks out due to location and Leicester due to recent success but surely there not to far back!!

Mainly for the fact you go by bus everywhere and I reckon they have the shortest distance to drive while compared to well runness of the club and competitive level

Yeah it isnt. Especially not now theyve had investors come in with higher level experience.
In fact, Id go further to say that if Plymouth have Lawrence, its an upgrade on Wilcher and they wont miss him.

This was including the Royals though but I doubt it changes things.

Agree Lawrence a step above Witcher however one could argue about the coaches Bristol have plans for their own arena Bristol have been stable and well run fior a number of years Good fan base in Plymouth though The years of madness are etched in my memory and still the best farce imo but a few have run you close maybe royals are number 1.

Because of the latest Turkish investment it may currently seem that Plymouth is an upgrade on Bristol.
But, while not failing to respect Plymouth's consistently-strong fanbase, Bristol looks to have the greater long-term prospects.
Geography will always hamper Raiders to a much-greater extent than any other club in the country.
Liverpool, Royals etc. - we've all seen examples of the crash-and-burn that sudden investment brings.
How sure can we be of the Turk's motives. Why is he investing? If basketball success is the aim, why would he be involved in Plymouth when he could get involved in a bigger market, even if he only limited himself to the BBL.
I've seen all the stuff about education links etc. but it still leaves me uneasy.
I understand that it would be very difficult for any club to turn down the sort of funds the Turk is apparently going to throw in, but where is this all going to go?
Where's the long-term view? Or are we going to get another of the grab-what-you-can-while-you-can scenarios and don't think too much about what may happen tomorrow...

I share your worry of what happens when he wants out, luckily he doesn't own it all

Its a shame that 5 years of Bob Widdecombe destroys our clubs 40 year legacy but i get why you would think that. The whole coachea debate i agree, I think Kapoulos is great, but he's been found out, he needs to change now or the spiral downwards will continue. The own arena thing does make me laugh, our plans for our own arena were made public before bristols, the actual plans look lovely too. But everyone and his dog seems to forget we were doing the same.

While I think about it, another South Coast sports situation that has aspects of similarity.
Poole Speedway. Long-known as the Manchester United of speedway.
Year after year they signed all the top riders, to the extent that they became hated by many fans of other clubs.
Year after year they won more trophies than anyone else.
But the sport as a whole is diminishing.
Now Poole have chosen to drop down from the top-level.
What, a la Liverpool and Royals, is the point of being top-boy if you are only top-boy in a restricted market.
Unless the Turk wants to go Euro with Plymouth (and would they meet all the venue requirements etc?) then what is the point of his investment?
His firm may be based in Plymouth but if I wanted the big-time I would not be held back by dint of my location.
Something doesn't smell right. Almost fishy I guess you could say...

They fully aim for Europe dont worry, this isn't their first team either, we are the little brother of the top flight turkiah league team

Personally with raiders even if things go wrong the fan base is so loyal and strong I could see them with standing the investor pulling out!

I lpve reading about Bristol's shiny new venue. It's taken six years to produce some pretty pictures. How long before a brick gets laid?
Re Wilcher, even if they're now rich i doubt Plymouth want to pay starters money for a bench player and i imagine he's worried that once he becomes a pench player he'll be stuck there forever
