Remember him from Kentucky, barely. Clearly his career is pretty much over. And he’s playing the 3? And against Lithuania? Think he was averaging 2-3pts a game and almost no minutes in Spain just a few years ago. What planet are you guys on??

It's a big signing - not sure how much he'll be getting paid but could be either be a complete disaster if his career trajectory continues downhill or a total masterstroke.

Think he was averaging 2-3pts a game and almost no minutes in Spain just a few years ago. What planet are you guys on?? Most American's in the BBL are in the 'Autumn' of their professional career. Last year he was averaging 2.8 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game playing for Fuenlabrada in Spain. Not very impressive on face value, but remember that was in the Liga ACB - Spain's top tier basketball league, and one of the most popular professional indoor sports leagues in the world. He was also an NBA D League All Star and Defensive Player of the Year just 4 years ago. If he can play at that level in the BBL those stats will automatically be considerably higher. If you thought the BBL was ever going to get someone like LeBron, instead of 'LeBrons mate' then I'd ask what planet are you on?! What's perhaps more worrying for me is that the first photo that comes up when you Google his name is a police mugshot. Anyway, back to basketball, I'm hoping he's a good signing. He certainly has the potential of being that. I suppose for me it depends on how much of the budget he's consuming. But overall, I'm really happy with the signing.

He’s not Lebrons mate first off, so that’s a stretch, and there are plenty of better, younger and available players out there to play the 3/4. And the mugshot.......how do even market him as it negates his past accomplishments. Window dressing.

Contrary to what the oracle that is dunkster predictably believes, I reckon a 32 year old who's made close to 200 NBA appearances, has played at the highest levels in Europe and has done very well in the G League is actually a pretty good signing for a BBL club. The domestic violence arrest does sound bad but it was quite a while ago now and plenty of much better teams in much better leagues have given him chances since then. He’s not Lebrons mate first off, so that’s a stretch, and there are plenty of better, younger and available players out there to play the 3/4. My suspicion is that until quite recently you'd paid absolutely no attention at all to basketball outside of the US. But you're clearly a fountain of knowledge on the subject now. And I can't help but feel this knowledge could be put to better use than telling a bunch of British basketball fans how terrible British basketball is over and over again. Can we see this shortlist of targets you've apparently compiled? Would be fascinating (and tremendously educational I'm sure) to see what you think a good, realistic BBL signing looks like. Enlighten us, please. We need all the help we can get.

The fact that you even think having a player on the squad that was up on FELONY charges of domestic violence and beating his girlfriend with an XBOX tells me that you have no issue with violence and abhorrent behaviour. That's shocking to me. This is probably why the guy can't keep a job and ends up in the BBL. As far the prototype player, I'd go for younger (22-25) top end D1, G League experience with no personal problems with a view of continued development. There are a lot of them out there. Trying to hire busted players past their glory days is not a winning strategy. They are busted for a reason.

I stunned by the news that you think anything to do with the BBL is crap. Truly stunned. Tell me again, why are you - and your fake NCAA career - on a British basketball messageboard when you clearly hate British basketball?

Not true, but praising a busted player with serious violence and domestic abuse background as a "good signing" is a bit much by anyones standards. Would any of you trust him going out with any of your females friends, sisters etc?? Of course not, so why praise him joining a team. He has character issues. As for my career at UCL, I'm smart enough to know when to get out and get a real career as basketball isn't everything. Good to have options and great parents I guess. Seems I'm the only American on this board and most of my recent comments were about Americans (777 and DeAndre) something I know about. Hershey or whatever your name is, you can't handle the truth it appears!

And clearly you don't understand Champions League basketball, he'll be playing a team from Lithuania, not the actual Lithuanian team! And he played in Spain last year, not a few years ago! But hey that doesn't fit with your dialogue does it. I also thought he was primarily a defensive guard, so people who actually know anything about basketball look beyond those headline stats, to what a player can contribute to the team. Yes, Lions haven't signed Lebron, (which even if that happened I'm sure you'd come up with some negatives) but they have signed an experienced player whose played in far far better leagues than the BBL & has experience in European competitions. It's potentially a great signing for Lions & given how some people thought they wouldn't even play in Europe & it would all fall apart quickly, it's a big sign that it looks like things really are moving forward nicely.

NBA star DeAndre Liggins just surrendered after being charged with beating his girlfriend and throwing an Xbox at her. Liggins allegedly ran into the bedroom he shared with his GF in Oklahoma City ... then grabbed her by the hair, pulling her out of the bed. Then, for bad measure, he allegedly punched her 11 to 12 times and then hurled an Xbox and a box fan at her head -- striking her. He then allegedly held her at bay. What's worse ... the fight went down right in front of their 2-year-old son.Liggins has been charged with 7 criminal offenses, including domestic assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and kidnapping.Hmmmmmm. A great signing!

Your outrage might be understood more if basically everything that happens in BBL you didn't talk so negatively about on here I can't sympathise with anything you say when pretty much everything you say is anti BBL You clearly don't rate the league, the clubs in the league, the owners of those clubs or the players at the clubs I can't really see what enjoyment you get from even talking about them and wasting your energy on here? Surely you want to be talking about stuff you actually like or enjoy Dunkster?

No, I just don't like scummy investment funds and people who beat their wives/girlfriends or those who are tolerant of those behaviours. But that's me tho.

Pretty clear from reading up that all felony charges were dropped.
Pretty scummy publishing an allegation in detail without mentioning it wasn't proven.

She had a broken shoulder as a result from what I read. Combine that with 777, not a good look. Seems desperate to me. Won’t matter in the end tho.

So most of it was dropped. Which suggests that nowhere near what was initially reported really happened. Unless you, Dunkster, know better. I don't think anyone would condone what he pleaded guilty to, but it was is 2013 and he's done his time. Do you think he should never work again? What's your solution, bar him from playing - and he's had NBA gigs since - and let him end up turning to crime to live. Would that be better for anyone?
Dunkster's problem is that he's tbe kind if guy who lives under a bridge He's not great at it, his initial story about being a former UCL player has been proved to be a nonsense and he won't even pretend that he exaggerated a bit and was really a practice player - which wouldn't be shabby in itself. Instead the character he portrays now just slates anything the BBL does. If they signed Mother Theresa he'd find a problem with it,

To be fair mate, Mother Theresa would be a waste of an import slot
