As you can see above - people are very interested in the questions about what's happening next with BBL

It's not just me who's interested in the answers to the questions

Hopefully Jeff can help with some of the answers

I'm not scared of any of the answers

In fact I will be really pleased to read the solutions for BBL clubs

I'm yet to read a single solution so far. Yet I have to assume there is a solution as the clubs are announcing signings. Including NY own club. My own club at the same time are saying we only have enough money to survive til October.

I find all the signings that are being announced to be very strange when we don't have any idea (in the public realm at least) as to when or if BBL will be able to restart?

Can BBL restart without fans?

If so when is it planning to restart?

What Capacity does it need to be allowed to be viable long term without fans (if any)?

If hersey or his mate answer please someone copy the answer (do me a favour and take out the usual personal digs) as I would love to learn from their combined wisdom and knowledge

As the world is fighting to combat COVID-19, the season had to be postponed, but that doesn’t mean people will sit at home hearing nothing about basketball anymore. In fact, there will be Board meetings online every week. These are meant to help with maintaining the clubs and the league and make announcements about the estimated competition restart date

I don't think so BUT I think financially it is. Games behind "Closed Doors" are not really viable for The BBL with no main sponsor or television revenue. I think there has to be an element of fans being allowed to make it worthwhile but that's a personal opinion.

And what percentage of capacity is needed to make this viable for clubs if so?

I had heard 25% then 33% then limited numbers. I can't remember the figure but it was something like 50 in addition to the officials, players, coaching and backroom staff but it's still far from decided I believe.

Finally assuming some of the above is still up in the air how are our clubs signing players without knowing their income or when the league can restart?

I can only assume contracts are being written with caveats and conditions being included to take COVID into account. In other words I don't know!
