Nobody is staying in Worcester Newby is Maybe he is back to working with a "Leeds" budget Or maybe Wolves are more realistic about UK basketball finances under Covid than other clubs?

Or maybe all the players hated and want away? Maybe off the court there could have been issues? Maybe players have better offers?
101 reasons

Good luck to Cortez. Nice guy and talented.
Having said that, he was a tad up and down at times. He really shone when playing against Eagles so that could have had an undue influence on their interest, as opposed to fully considering the players he was directly up against in those particular matches.
A tenuous comparison I know, but I recall John Ameachi signing for Utah Jazz on a $12million deal after having a wonder game against them for the Orlando Magic. His stats plummeted to next to nothing in Utah, he went in the doghouse and was eventually shown the door for nothing in order to get him off the salary cap.
A cautionary tale...

mrtall - yes, have indeed read his book. Was quite a while back (and have now passed the book on to someone else), so my recollections of the exact details are a little hazy.
I think Ameachi talked about feeling largely isolated in Utah once details of his sexuality came out so that must have had an impact on his on-court showings. Fell out with Jerry Sloan in a big way apparently.

Obviously it's difficult to comment unless you've been in the same situation but i don't know why he didn't come earlier. Pretty much everyone knew before he returned to the NBA. It may have made his choice of club more straightforward, if less lucrative.
