Whoever gets chosen is going to have a massive advantage, I'm guessing it's not going to be Belarus, leaves Bulgaria, Lithuania & London!

Got to say a one-off game is likely to help us. If it's at the Box, it helps us even more.

I really think over 2 legs, experienced Euro teams would work us out & stop us playing, over a single game, far more difficult. I'm not saying we're going to get out of the qualifying stages, it's still a massive ask but I think it makes it a little more possible. The next(final?) signing could be crucial.

Decent chance this will be in London That will be good Certainly a possibility, the Copper Box ticks a lot of boxes venue wise. It largely depends on how FIBA feel about our government (understandably) keep changing the rules on spectators and indoor events. Not sure if it’s better or worse than the situation in other potential host countries though. Or maybe they’re quite happy with it potentially being a ‘behind closed doors’ event. Presumably the cost of venue hire would be shared between all teams involved too, which would help all teams involved if there’s no ticket revenue to also be shared.

On a downside, It does probably mean my Lithuanian flight tickets are pretty redundant now! I did buy them knowing it was always a possibility my attending was pie-in-the sky.

Lions playing qualification stages in Bulgaria. Was really hoping it'd be in the Box. I'm presuming that TV coverage is guaranteed for these games or they wouldn't have staged them there. Or am I just being over-optimistic? link

So as it stands, Lions players would need to self isolate for 14 days on their return to the U.K. Should they be successful in qualifying for the regular season when is the first game? And this could potentially impact their start to the BBL season. Still 4 weeks away so things can change, but just a few thoughts that came to mind.

There are rules for pro sportsmen that allow them to skip that - no going out on the piss being 1 of them

So the thoughts are that just because you are an elite high profile sportsperson you won't be likely to catch covid 19. Hmmm.

I'm just reporting facts I don’t see basketball of any kind in the list of sporting events exempt from the travel rules in the government’s legislation... www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2020/568/schedule/3/2020-08-22But I’m no expert, so happy to be shown otherwise...
