I assume you're referring here to that player grid Lions have been using to tease new signings? I broke out in a cold sweat when I saw three new boxes appear on that thing earlier today. But in the Mullens piece on Lions' website, Vince does promise this is the final signing. He's a man of his word right? it was the grid I was referring to! I missed where Vince said that!

Brilliant signing for GB basketball and potentially shows what can be achieved in London with the right backers. But it does make me think - how does all this work with the salary cap? Do these guys have separate BBL and Europe contracts or something like that?
One thing for sure - this squad is definitely not short of height!

Every big team needs haters so I hope the money lasts and they do ok in Europe but fail miserably in the BBL. my prediction is that they will scrape into the playoffs as 7 seed and be beaten by giants in the first round. Despite promising performances in Europe liggins and Mullens struggle to adapt to the British style of play which is particularly obvious in their matchups vs sharks where Backovic continually scores on Mullens and rocks where starter Bunyan scores 40 And Liggins describes him as “unguardable”.

Top 2 brits are exempt from the cap so mullens and robinson i guess? That leaves 250k for the other 12, I imagine liggins would command perhaps up to half of that? No idea how they fit it all in. Think you must be right with the euro exemptions

Could this be the highest calibre signing in bbl history maybe apart from rodman?

You'd have to include John Amaechi in that conversation

Alton Byrd for me. Irrespective of lack of NBA experience.

Could this be the highest calibre signing in bbl history maybe apart from rodman? Loren Meyer was a massive standout in our league.
As was Amaechi who interestingly played for Cleveland prior to Sharks and then made it back into the NBA in a big way with Orlando.
Not sure that Meyer did anything after his one year playing in Chester. The Northgate Arena must have been a huge culture shock for him

Beitish basketball gets far to much criticism from within to even think about what the outside really think. You've just got to look at nurse finch fab all out coaching in the nba /g-league to see. All these guys vuild their careers here. Too many egos in british basketball at times.

With all these big men signed, I reckon the Lions should head down to the Surrey Sports Centre. They could get to match-up with MBA, Joel Freeland, Will Neighbour, Rob Gilchrist, Gerald Robinson, Charlie Lowe, Mike Thiep, Michael Ocherobia, Skyler White; a mixture of true bigs and those who could be expected to match-up
With the likes of Tayo, Ashley Hamilton, Lovell Cook, Josh Steel, Martelle Mclemore, Orlan Jackman, Menelik Watson, Henry Wilkins, Elvsi Dusha and possibly Andrew Lawrence, the Lions could get a good work-out and the opportunity to match "excessive" depth with depth.

Isn't Menelik Watson an American football player? He is or at least was, I don't think he plays anymore. But he also played Division One NCAA Basketball before moving onto American Football. From memory I think he was injured when the Oakland Raiders (who drafted him) played at Wembley.

Oh, I knew he got drafted by the Raiders, just wasn't sure if there was a B-Baller with the same name.
He was an honorary Captain for Wembley game back in 2014 against the Dolphins.
