I don't think Eagles have developed young GB players at the club very well whilst I've been following BBL Maybe it will be different from now on

Out of interest can anyone shed any light as to why there isn’t an eagles under 18?team in the national league next year?

Outside of national league there are also regional and cv leagues. If the u18s aren't to national league level theres a high chance they've been entered into one of the others

Perhaps at the end of the day the next step has been a touch too hard for them and not just on the playing front. It requires a lot of dedication, time and effort to train and travel for limited minutes and you have to be prepared to learn and adapt to earn your spot. Remember too that it's not just about players but progressing and promoting the game as well. After all we have a local Head Coach that has already won a National title and who came through the ranks and he currently has three players on his roster that have come through the system and that he has coached and mentored as juniors. With Dave F now moving into a more development role I think The Eagles are definitely trying to promote and develop their own. It might not always work but we are trying. Oh and if Eddie Matthew happens to sign for anyone in The BBL this season that would be a ninth season at the tender age of 24.

I guess it's making that step to becoming established players that hasn't happened recently
