SHARKS RETURN TO EIS MVP Staff
Sheffield Sharks will relocate back to the English Institute of Sport this season. The venue switch came after their Ponds Forge base was shuttered until 2021 by its owners due to financial reasons.
In a letter to fans, Sharks chairman Yuri Matischen said: “As you may have heard sporting events will be subject to reduced numbers and we have had to take the measure of limiting season tickets.
“We will of course inform you of how and when any game tickets can be purchased, though at this stage outside of season ticket holders we cannot make any guarantees.”

Can someone remind me why Sharks left EIS originally? Was it a cost thing?

I thought they were kicked out Not exactly kicked out, but they were regularly treated in a way that was incompatible with growing a fan base or even running a basketball club out of there. The management would block off whole months worth of dates mid-season, sometimes after fixtures were scheduled, which meant Sharks' were often ending up with 4 home games in a fortnight followed by none for a month and often struggled to find a date for knock out games.

I was wondering if Sharks would be installing an ice rink as part of the court like they did at Ponds Forge....
