How many other Riders faithful received an email from the morning side arena today giving you a membership number and profile, I take it we will soon hear about when and if we can purchase our season tickets. My cash is ready to be parted with.....

My cash is ready to be parted with..... Does this mean that all those who buy a season ticket will be able to attend all the games? Obviously not knowing the size of the crowd allowed to begin with and the number of season ticket holders but someone will have done the maths to ensure the numbers match. Is it first come first served? Ballot? How many different commemorative kits did you buy last season? Or just because you have a season ticket doesn't mean you will get to see every game?

Not one of your questions were answered via the emails, they were basically just a arena profile and a member number to buy tickets from Total Tickets, Which none are available.

I've got a new email address so no idea if I received or not!
At least we have a big arena and best chance of those who want to being able to attend
I'm thinking that if chanting is not allowed etc then there will be less families going short term as may seem a bit dull for the kids
I guess if numbers are limited inside the venue things like cheerleaders etc won't be in there either
So although less availability then it's likely going to be more spectators going for the game itself than the entertainment

Imagine going to a game to actually watch the game. Sounds like utopia to me

Update........ This is from the supporters club Secretary, Some season ticket holders alerted us to an email from the Arena yesterday. it’s not too clear what it was referring to. Along with other fans no one on the LRSC Committee (all season ticket holders) received this message. I have asked Russell to look into it for us and will keep you updated.
2nd update I have just spoken to Russell. The club has been working really hard, under difficult circumstances to put procedures and structures in place regarding the sale of season tickets. You will hear from them very soon. Please be patient for a little longer - the wait is nearly over!
It looks like a mistake has happened somewhere and nobody has missed out on getting season tickets, Hope this clears some concerns up.

Received an email today about season tickets!
We don't get to keep our old seats, but can choose which stand, block and height of seat.
Pretty happy with it, ordered instantly.

I think they have made a number of mistakes on this one. By increasing the price of some tickets while reducing the price of others they are basically saying that they consider the custom of certain types of people as more valuable than others. If they couldn't afford to financially absorb the cost of reducing the price of children's tickets (which is completely understandable in the current circumstances) they should have kept all tickets at the same price as last year rather than pass the cost onto other season ticket holders. To be honest increasing the price of season tickets following 2 consecutive years of season tickets working out more expensive than purchasing tickets for individual games in advance is tone deaf in itself. With this in mind it also shows a lack of respect to current season ticket holders, who are currently out of pocket due to the shortened season, to offer neither a renewal discount compared to those purchasing a new season ticket or even a priority period to purchase season tickets before anyone else has the opportunity to do so. While people will have sympathy for how the current pandemic has affected clubs and have been willing to write off the lost games from last season it really doesn't cost clubs much to acknowledge that fans are out of pocket and Riders' approach has generally failed in this regard. Even something along the lines of retaining last years prices for existing season ticket holders while charging any new season ticket holders slightly more than the current set price and offering existing season ticket holders a short window to renew before season tickets went on general sale would have managed to portray the mutual respect that is needed between long term fans and clubs and would have had little to no impact on the overall revenue levels.

Disappointed not to receive a priority period for purchasing my season ticket as I have held one for at least 25+ years. I've been out all day in Derbyshire and therefore only really had an opportunity to complete the application when I got home two hours ago. Some blocks had sold out already!

Must admit I was surprised by that, too, and the lack of any acknowledgement of our willingness to basically write off half of last season's ticket. I think this will be my 11th season ticket year.
I emailed them afterwards to ask if they could put us back in our same seats, but recognise that the Covid-19 constraints might make it difficult. Much to my surprise I soon had a reply from Kevin Routledge, saying that they would do their best. Fair enough.

Bear in mind how hard it must be to get the balance right
Also such a short space of time to make decisions and they will also have no real idea how many people will take the offers up
Riders don't have a huge team of staff to manage any of this either.
Kevin will do the very best he can to make it as fair as possible and as safe as possible for anyone who wants to watch Riders. I am sure he will personally get involved for most situations where he can do something to help
I've no doubt about that. That's his character. He's a supporter himself and he knows what being a supporter means. He's also a family man etc.
Bound to be some mistakes along the way but won't be intentional.
They've not had the test event yet in Newcastle. When the test event waa announced they said details would be out within 7 days?
No info yet. The test event is scheduled for Friday 18th September.
I guess they could test how to ration ticket sales for that for other clubs to learn from. As hopefully there will be more fans wanting to attend who are allowed to attend

Also disappointed that there just seems to be a free for all, with no acknowledgement of previous years season ticket holders. i assumed that there would be a period of time for us to renew, but obviously not!
Read the comments on here this morning and decided to get it done, although there looked to be quite a bit of availability in most areas.
I don't really care where i sit, would just be happy to be there watching a game. Have gone for my usual victory 2 lower seats as preference.
i had already written off last seasons money and whatever amount of it was left given the lack of any previous correspondence from club in this respect, and the dire noises being made.

It's the free for all aspect that annoys me most. Very unfair that newcomers could take seats allocated for existing season ticket holders without some window to decide whether to take up the option again. I got into the block and level I wanted but I could have easily been too late because other blocks had already sold out. Given we don't start the season for quite a while that seems pretty unreasonable and possibly counterproductive for the club - some may prefer not to renew if they can't sit in their preferred area of the arena..

I understand all of the above - realistically how many new fans are going to be trying to buy a season ticket in the present situation? If it's more than 25 then it's a brilliant problem to have I doubt it's more than a handful at most

Still should have had an interim period for existing ticket holders. Principle remains the same and no-one could know how many newcomers would/might purchase so that's why you give some leeway..

Finally, we will be introducing a further option this season, where, if you advise us 72 hours in advance of any home games you are unable to attend, we will put your seats ‘in play’ and, if successfully reallocated, you will be provided with free vouchers to use for purchases at future Riders games or at the Arena, including for food & beverage, or merchandise. Because this is a new scheme we are experimenting this season on how it will work, but importantly, it will give us more flexibility in allocating seats, within Covid safety constraints, and with reduced capacity, and our Season Ticket holders can benefit.
The above is clever.
