That all makes sense
It's great to end on a season with a trophy win and clearly he's not leaving Eagles basketball - just leaving the BBL first team duties

We've been friends for around 20 years. We even share a name. We talked about this in the early days of lockdown, how we've both lived the dream - left the stands to help run our clubs. Anyone who hasn't got massive respect for how Dave helped build Eagles into the most successful club in British basketball history knows nothing about the game. I'd wish him a happy retirement, but while he won't be on the bench he's far too obsessed with the game to quit. The interview's on its way.....

If every franchise had a DaveF, the league would be a far better place.
Hope he finds similar success in whatever's next for him.

Local legend is right and then some! A wonderful tenure with the professional team comes to an end. Or does it? Knowing Dave as a friend and a volunteer, never forget he's a volunteer, colleague I know he has big plans to use his knowledge, skills and ability to help further progress the Club/Organisation and won't be going anywhere soon.
His legacy will always be there for all to admire and praise and I know he's merely going to add to that as he continues supporting the Club and sport he cherishes so much. I'm also pretty darn sure that should Ian need him he'll always be there for him.
It seems to be a good time for Dave to move on to things he's always wanted to do and develop and we at Newcastle Eagles applaud him for all he's done so far for us and all he'll no doubt do in the future.
Bigz is so right that if every Club had a Dave then The BBL would be enriched and better. Mind you there'd be some strange conversations going on!
Thank you Dave for helping bring so much success and thank you for continuing to look at the welfare and progression of our superb franchise which is definitely so thanks to yur contributions.
