Anyone else having the issue with sound randomly dropping out? Only happens on NBA live games no matter what TV or tablet I watch on! Weird. Wondered if it’s due to language on court??

Yep. They don't do the miced up stuff live, so it's not that

Yes, I had it last night in the Boston/Toronto match. We'd had some minor picture glitches (not NBA) earlier in the week which I blamed on the weather and just decided the sound drop-out was related to whatever that issue actually was. So looks like it's a transmission issue, possibly even at source (WDW).

Yes, I'm suspicious that Sky may be paranoid about any snowflakes being offended and are indeed clumsily censoring matters. Ironic really, given the ease with which sewer-language abounds on many of their channels, with most of it being spewed out by those same snowflakes Can it be coincidental that the sound went off when Patrick Beverley also went off last night. He really seemed to lose it badly over quite a non-event, with Clippers already having no chance of winning. It even looked like he might have tugged Doc Rivers over it

Yes - really irritating. Picture unaffected but have that sound dropout all the time.

I thought it might be the live advertisement reads the commentators sometimes do that Sky were dropping the audio on (to comply with Ofcom rules), but given how many were still heard probably not. So my guess is that it was just a technical fault on the international feed taken by Sky.

On an unrelated note, I like that Sky’s coverage now includes TNT’s Inside the NBA show and not just the NBA TV holding screen between the action.

I agree. There is little reason to add a UK front end in my opinion. Just take the US coverage.

And a superb battle last night with Bucks taking the spoils in OT.
Giannis was on fire early doors before his departure.
Hope they don't rush him back. They're not going to win three in a row, so don't let him risk a long-term injury.
Having said that, if the other players somehow drag the tie back to 3-3 then there may be a decision to consider.
Then again even getting through to the next round would lead to a beating from Boston/Toronto.
Everything's lining up for a Championship for LA's less-glamorous side.

Lakers beating Houston in game 2 means it's a more exciting best of 7 BUT they don't look as if they've got the measure of Houston - over 20+ points up yet they couldn't stop a big comeback and depended on Davis and James to get them over the line. They need to defend better against the three pointers.

Being the investigative journalist I used to be, I listened carefully during the first half of Celtics/Raptors last night (no spoilers) and it appears to be completely random, normally cutting out in the middle of a commentary rather than being anything to do with ads or snowflakes worrying about a bit of MF'ing. It doesn't happen on League Pass.
In other news, Steve Nash is in big trouble.

The commentator just said it's a problem in the bubble. He obviously reads Bev

I often watch games on mute via league pass. I'll probably revert to that.

The commentator just said it's a problem in the bubble. He obviously reads Bev I think that was in reference to audio drop outs in the ‘fake’ crowd noise - which he said was because you can hear ‘everything’ - which I took to mean the drop outs were due to bad language in the arena. I don’t think it was in reference to complete audio drop outs (including commentary). That was my understanding anyway, and as others have said, the complete audio drop outs are not occurring on NBA League Pass or the US broadcasts so it’s unlikely the commentators would mention it.

Didn’t notice a single sound cut out in last nights Toronto Boston thriller.
Guess Nick Nurse has those Raptors well behaved. Well, except when he’s calling timeouts with 0.5 left!

G4 between Lakers & Rockets is the worst for sound dropouts yet. Ridiculous.

So if the audio drop outs are due to the host broadcaster dropping the audio whenever any adult language is detected I suppose this means the games also aren't truly live... they must be on a few seconds delay. I know this is quite normal for live US television and radio, which usually operate on about a 7 second delay. But I'm surprised no-one has actually commentated on this. There was outcry during the last football world cup when iPlayer coverage was about 10 seconds behind the broadcast coverage. Similar outcry with Amazon's football coverage experiencing similar delays due to the differences between streaming and traditional broadcasts. Personally I don't mind a few seconds delay, but can understand it sometimes being an issue for things like live betting.

Prime seems to have got better. The tennis they initially covered was over 20seconds behind and apps and live scores were well ahead

I'd question their decision to show Clippers on Friday over the Boston/Toronto G7. Both good games but surely a game 7 is what the play-off are all about?
