When do the Euro Games start that they are playing in? Next Tuesday - 22nd September. And if they win that they play again on Thursday - 24th September. If they then win that they'll be in the Basketball Champions League regular season. If they don't they'll be in the FIBA Europe Cup regular season.

Stephen Brown signs, point guard who averaged 13/2/5 in the German top flight last season
Jules Dang Akodo injured
Seems a very good signing (said that a few times about the Lions this year)

When they teased the MBA signing the other day I noticed that two empty boxes had appeared on the infamous grid of horror, so I'm not surprised to see another announcement quickly follow suit. Though I figured it would probably be a Brit or European... Someone who would actually be eligible to play in all formats.
Mighty big shoes for this fella to fill replacing a guy who probably didn't figure to play a meaningful minute in European competition anyway. But a player who averaged 13 and 5 in the German Bundesliga last season ought to be up to the task. I'm surprised someone of this quality was available so late in the day. He immediately looks like the best PG on the roster... So is Justin Robinson now a backup for this team?
Given that I thought this roster was getting unnecessarily large 2-3 signings ago, it goes without saying that I think Vince has massively overdone it at this point. You certainly need quality to make Europe work and in a vacuum I'd say this guy looks an excellent signing. But there's no way you need a squad of this size and I'm convinced that somewhere along the line money has been wasted here.
I'm actually not sure I'd want to be in Vince's shoes at this point. I never thought I'd be saying this about a BBL team in Europe but if Lions do manage to be competitive in BCL or have a deep run in Europe Cup they've really just done what they were supposed to do. It's not like Vince figures to be showered with praise for that. And it's not like it would provide a useful blueprint for other British teams to follow as there's surely no other club in the country right now that could get anywhere near putting a roster together like this. And if it goes badly (and a brilliant collection of individuals doesn't always make for a brilliant team) then Vince is frankly going to look quite daft. Feels like he's created a bit of a no win situation for himself here. Will be fun to see how it all plays out regardless.

Wow! if we ever get the league started it'll be a miracle if any other BBL team can manage to prevent Lions winning the championship title.

If they don't they'll be in the FIBA Europe Cup regular season. Any news on possible TV / streaming coverage next Tuesday? Nothing yet. I suspect providing coverage was part of the hosting deal for each group of games. So then it'll just be a case of accessing it. I'm fairly confident we'll be able to watch it, and if I had to guess I'd say we'll be doing so on the BCL or FIBA YouTube channel. Or at the very least via Bet365 (who have already started streaming BCL games again in the last week). But for now it's a waiting game... I don't think the tip-off times have even been confirmed yet (they'll be 2 games played back to back on Tues 22nd Sept - so maybe a 5pm and 8pm tip?).

I've seen somewhere that tip is at 6pm local time, which is 4pm here, which is a massive pain in the arse!

Copper Box is no more for the Lions. It’s UEL from now on. Holds about 600 so could fill it easily I guess if crowds ever get back. Highest crowd at CB was 1789 -athough obviously a few hundred freebies to local schools and clubs so about 1100 paying fans- whether they’d get to Beckton is another matter- actually easier by transport -Docklnads Railway direct to East london Uni rather than the half hour schlep from Stratford.
