Ah, those Maxwell House ads.......... Welcome Evan - looks like a good replacement for CJ. Hope the backboards are shatterproof with this squad around.
Eagles look strong but perhaps one big short of a contender, unless Uncle Jeff has a surprise up his sleeve. I wonder what the score is with being able to play (but not pay) current US college players who are stuck at home?

Looking at his highlight reel from last season I'm really excited by this. Looks like he's got a good mid range game and is just as strong as CJ was at bringing the ball up the court.

Lovin the headline "Maxwell Added To Eagles Blend", but am then disappointed that the headline of the actual release is so bland.
Could it be that you have no confidence that anyone other than old gits will understand the coffee reference?
For my announcement of Worcester signing 6ft 11 Ian Salter, I issued the press release with a headline of "Salter Weighs in at Wolves", but wonder how many, (whether old gits or not) got the link to the Salter brand of scales

How long before a commentator says "Maxwell drops the (silver) hammer"

Jeff says ‘ The final piece in the 2020/21 jigsaw?’ so to me this sounds like this is not the final piece in the jigsaw and there could be another signing to come or else why put a question mark.
I hope so as although the team is looking strong I think we do need another player in, preferably another forward to give us a bit more depth in the forward positions.
But I see the article has now changed from this signing virtually completes our roster which states that the roster is not quite done but it’s nearly there to this completes our 2020/21 roster.
So what is it?

I think we're in a world of pain if this is our last player. It means a 9 man rotation including 2 who we know will miss chunks of the season with fitness issues. So realistically we know we are going in to a good number of games this year with a 7 man rotation.
Asking for trouble.

Kai is more than capable of contributing from low down the bench - We just don't want him playing 25+ minutes.

While we’re waiting to see if there’s a final piece to the Eagles jigsaw, there’s plenty of historic references to this year’s team apart from Maxwell House and Eddie the Eagle for us oldies..... - Fletch was a crap 1985 film starring Chevy Chase - Louis is still Europe’s longest lasting monarch but 300 years ago - Darius was king of Persia 2500 years ago - Rex just means king in Latin Long may the Eagles reign last !

My original headline was as stated on this thread. It was changed for exactly the reasons you said!

Depends what we are looking to achieve really. If we want to compete for silverware then I would say very much so.

I would say yes maybe just to give more depth, if we have a bench say of Darius, Drew, Louis and Eddie then we go 9 deep that could all play big mins, then Themba as the 10th man who should be looking at more court time this season. So we look ok but if injuries start kicking in then that could be an issue, not in the backcourt but in the front court with only 3 recognised bigs and the rest are guards, that’s where my concern is.

As I've said earlier this summer, I'm not too fussed about how we recruit this summer due to the ongoing circumstances we face at the moment. I'm pleasantly surprised with the starting 5 we can put out but there really isn't much depth there for me, especially in the front court. I'm pretty sure we do still have a euro spot to fill so you never know. I wouldn't expect to be challenging for silverware this year, but I wasn't really expecting it anyway. I see this as a season (if it happens) we just have to get through. I'll just be happy to have some basketball to watch.
