So it appears that the game is going ahead, but behind closed doors. Seems a bit silly to me that the club can go to the trouble to make the arena Covid-secure, get it approved by the relevant councils, and yet still not be able to prove the efficacy of all the changes by holding a test pilot event.
Surely attendees at a pilot basketball event at the Eagles stadium would be far less likely to catch the virus, than they would be going into one of the many pubs in Newcastle, before 10 o’clock at night.

I will take the level of sillyness one step further - tomorrow night all those folks who thought they were getting to be at a pilot of an indoor sport can instead book seats and go to the Cineworld or Odeon where they will find their version of socially distant seating in place (my experience at our local multiplex was like Eagles announced, only every 2nd row in use and the seating plan left gaps between groups). At the EAC there would have been stewards in place for the whole time and could see people stuck to the seating plan - at the cinema the lights go down and no staff are about to see if people decide to move and gather in more central seats than wing ones. Also I am no architect, ventilation engineer or social spacing calculation health expert - but my eyesight and life experience tells me the amount of air in an arena is greater than that in a cinema screen. Yep dont see why it is not safe to hold a limited capacity indoor sport pilot but it is safe to have a limited attendance cinema audience!

It's valid but in due course if the North East doesn't get the numbers down then the likelihood is you won't be able to go to the cinema either. It's a balancing act all the time

rather ask ... how many basketball fans are there, that live in Newcastle. and are non Eagles fans?
I think the answer is likely to be the same, but not sure of the relevance.

Do we know if its going to be streamed online yet ? Pretty sure both Eagle/Shark fans would like to see their new line-ups in action... ...even if it just a bit of a warm-up training session On that note ... Feel free to post any known streaming Links on here ... Thanks edit ... my bad

Managed to get on now, but hard to tell the difference between the kits. Oh, wait, looks like they just adjusted the lighting.
