With the recent #FreeSaintPat debacle I saw on twitter, stemming from the lions limited social engagement, what would your view of the perfect social media offering be?
I’ve seen some discussion on twitter related to this subject but thought I’d ask here.
How could socials be managed in a way, not only to cater for the current fans, but reach a wider audience?

Lions being the only BBL club with an actual competitive game & playing in Europe for the first time, had an ideal opportunity to promote the hell out of he team, even when it was clear we wouldn't be playing at the Box. There should have been multiple posts daily, there should have been interviews with the players & coaching staff on the website leading up to the game & linked massively on the social media pages. Even though we lost, there should have been more interviews afterwards & plenty of conversation about still playing in Europe in January. The Facebook page didn't even post the result!!
So all those things they could have done massively better.
They had interviews with Sky Sports last week! Who really knew? When were they aired? Were they aired?
They should still be promoting regularly, the team are still training, there's still plenty to talk about even though there's no games at present. Lions in particular need to build their brand, get people engaged in the club & what's happening. There's a lot of new players, promote them, people don't only support clubs, they support people in those clubs. Without interaction people stop caring or bothering. If you can't feel an affinity to players as well as the club the interest dwindles.

Is there anything in the BBL franchise requirements? I read before there were venue reqs, financial reqs etc.
Isn’t the franchise model supposed to be a “This is what to do and how to do it” putting it simply.

Enjoyed that and mentally ticked off the ones Riders actively pursue. We never post about injuries (#15) because Rob wants to keep his cards covered but there are quite a few the club manages to do, which was encouraging.
