From your (ongoing) experience with the Lynch Trophy, do you have any thoughts on the best way for the BBL to both progress and run a meaningful season (i.e. enabling champions to be crowned if all fixtures can't be completed)? Any obvious areas where the BBL may have an advantage, and conversely, where the NBL approach may be advantageous? Accepting much remains guesswork as far as legislation decisions etc influences any plans.

I think the fact that the BBL is due to have a third round of fixtures could help it. The main aim should be to complete a home and away schedule, and if the third game isn't possible you'll still have a legitimate champion.
Be flexible. If you've booked a bus but your game is off, get on it and go somewhere else. Just play when you can.
More will come to me.

What are the rules with it all? For example I’m currently self isolating due to being near another staff member who then got symptoms the next day and was later tested positive. Would this cancel the game if I played for someone?

Yeah, probably, the devil is in the detail. Two of the ten postponements we've had in the Trophy have been "precautionary". I'm all for being safe, but it won't happen if clubs are going to panic.
The BBL should be in a better position as most of their roster don't have other jobs.

Yeah, they need to just go with “primary” contacts to get anywhere through the season. As soon as you go to “secondary” contact tracing you’re done!

If you've booked a bus but your game is off, get on it and go somewhere else. Just play when you can. More will come to me. The "bus" part made me laugh, but the underlying point is very valid. Teams need to be flexible and accept that this won't be a normal season. If the fixtures become a bit unbalanced, so be it. It's unlikely the games played will be even at any point in time and your "bus" scenario may find a team playing the same opposition three times close together for example (although I don't think BBL fixtures are ever nicely spaced by opposition anyway). An agreement on how to determine the Final League Table should be made in advanced, I don't think running a season over say 6 months and then making in null and void because not every fixture was played is good for the sport in the circumstances. That also requires teams to be fair and not manipulate scenarios to their advantage. I'd also favour a flexible fixture list which is regularly reworked in an attempt to keep things running as smoothly as possible. Obviously there are some logistics to consider. For that reason I'd favour (where possible) limiting the impact on the home team and looking to swap around the away teams when necessary. Their impact is more linked to arranging transport although there will need to be thought on overnight stays. On the latter I assume there has been some thought on neutral venues; such as Rocks/Raiders match-ups taking place in say Manchester. It's unlikely every team will treated equally due to issues outside the BBL's control, but the teams need to accept that. If it needs a bubble of three or four teams at a neutral venue to catch-up fixtures over a few days, then that shouldn't be ruled out, or two teams playing back-to-back at a venue to catch-up.

Think that's a valid suggestion about picking up games wherever and whenever you can. Could be down to a fixture pool on a Friday morning, eg. Nix should be playing Friday game off bul Sharks game off cos of opponents covid issue so Nix takes the fixture over. Don't fancy being Solly writing the match programmes how Everyone!!

The BBL could do that. We've shown with the Trophy that games can be arranged at short notice, and obviously with four groups there were less possible fixtures. My concern - and I'll take some flack for voicing this - is whether we'll be allowed to do it with D1 games. My experience with BE is that we'll have to fill in a form and wait three weeks for one of their "consultancy groups" (whose opinion is only valued when it doesn't involve too much work for paid staff) to decide whether it's okay. And then we'll get charged for the privilege.....

Worthing V Solent was terrible.
Solent were great, Worthing thought they could pass to Cam and he'd win it all. Thankfully they played some better basketball nearer the end of the game
