Lions play Sharks tomorrow night at the Copper Box in a friendly.
That's right, the Copper Box, somewhere the prophet of doom & destruction (drivethebody) told everyone that Lions wouldn't be playing at again!!
It's being streamed for free too, cannot wait to watch.
Lions even posted on all their social media & website about it, so it must be important!! I won't hold my breath about them reporting after the game on all media but you never know!

If I’m not wrong, Lions were mooted as not playing at the Copper Box because of Liggins’ past convictions. Clearly utter sh*te, or is it because Liggins is injured? 🤪

Clearly utter sh*te, or is it because Liggins is injured? 🤪 The Liggins/Copper Box rumour was utter rubbish... the Copper Box has hosted many events featuring people with historical criminal convictions, just look at some of the boxing they've hosted for starters. But I believe that was the rumour before the most recent one, so we now have 2 rumours saying the same thing that have been proved completely wrong!

So, it's a pre-season game, the result doesn't matter, it's what you learn that's important. So, what did we learn? Lions players in the main are lazy & casual. We learnt that Kevin Ware is a good player but far too fast for his team mates who barely got into the front court when he went on a fast break. He has to learn that sometimes his speed isn't an effective weapon. We learnt the Andre Lockhart was Lions best defensive player, but some of his team mates had no understanding of what they were doing defensively. We learnt that despite Lions signing a plethora of big men, it was only the one signed this week that actually made a decent impression on the whole game. We learnt that Sharks look the best they have for a few years with multiple threats but still look a little light in the front court. We learnt that Sharks really know how to play team basketball.
And whilst I was delighted basketball was back, I ****ing hate losing, even a friendly!

All the gear and no idea. Can vince coach these players? Sheffield we’re head and shoulders above. I know there were faces missing that would be starters but they weren’t short of talent

Why was Ware allowed to continually go coast-to-coast, ignoring his teammates? Is the big money that has been sloshed around pushed Vince into having to back off challenging highly-paid players, particularly the Americans?
And the new big guy might have picked up a few rebounds but was decidedly sloppy with his shots. Do we be generous to him and put it down to (a la Mo Walker) "rustiness"? Maybe the Estonian league is not all that.

Most of starting 5 out so Lions needn’t worry but I think the coach will change pretty soon. Any box score link available?

so will that be on Lions youtube live stream as well ? No mention of how to watch the game, just what the next game was and when. Given we’re less than a week away from the (re)scheduled season start date there’s going to have to be an announcement soon.

I’d you haven’t seen what Kevin Ware’s had to say on Twitter, mainly on Sharks, Nick Lewis and even Tom from Surrey, go do so now 🤣
“he nice but that’s really all they got. that team trash’ if we being honest. and full throttle we blowing them out. QUOTE ME” @wayupware
Someone sign this guy up to Bev

Didn’t catch the game miself Bristol to be cut - and judging by the stats you can see why. Taiwah, big old Joe and Lockhart playing serious minutes shows that this was a scrubs team so Lions needn’t be concerned. But there is some big unrest in the camp - not a happy place at moment - think it shows on court

Bristol would never be joining that group of players to put up numbers though, surely?!

The trouble is you can only have 5. v 5 on the court If the 12 you put up against sharks are not that good ,why keep them Sharks rotated all their roster and Oscar Baldwin and Johde Campbell both played really well Johde in particular Sharks had a great team ethic, and Lewis was on fire Bring the season on Loved the way your commentator kept referring to the BBL side against the European quality team, The BBL must be really good

Lions don't look like the all conquering team that they seemed to be on paper. Guess games aren't played on paper! Can Lewis maintain this form all season? Think not.
