Sky Sports coverage of this year's BBL Trophy Finals has been confirmed for this Sunday:
14:30
Live British Basketball WBBL: Women's Trophy Final Coverage of the WBBL Trophy Final. (Live, Widescreen, High Definition)
17:00 Live British Basketball (Sport) BBL: Men's Trophy Final Coverage of the BBL Men's Trophy Final. (Live, Widescreen, High Definition)
Both games will be live on Sky Sports Arena and Sky Sports Mix (which doesn't require a Sky Sports subscription).
I also have it on good authority that both games will be streamed live and available for free via the Sky Sports YouTube channel.

No, in fact Sky currently say the game is being played in Glasgow... which I'm almost certain is wrong.

Sky Sports, along with all BBL social media, is supporting the boycott of social media by football and the wider sporting community this weekend.
So from Friday 15:00 until Monday 23:59 Sky Sports will not be posting any content to any social media channels - including YouTube.
Therefore Monday's BBL Play Off Quarter Final games will only be available via the BBL Player. The games will however be free to watch.
Tuesday's, Wednesday's and Thursday's games (along with the Semi Finals and Final) will be streamed for free on Sky Sports YouTube channel as planned.

Kick in the teeth for the BBL and sports fans alike by the arrogant and out of touch elite. COVID in my house so having to self isolate. This has ruined my weekend. But more seriously, the BBL is missing out on exposure. I’ve checked what’s on Sky Sports Mix. F-ing netball all weekend.

I'm a little surprised they're grouping streaming live sports content on YouTube in with the likes posting on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, but so they are. As I said, the games will be on BBL Player.... for free (although I suspect you might need to create an account), and you can download the BBL Player on the likes of Amazon Fire TV, or I guess your chosen TV web browser, and still watch the games on you big screen TV. But I accept nothing has the accessibility of YouTube for most people.

Of course there are other ways Sky Sports could boycott social media abuse and still stream live sports in desperate need of exposure. Option 1. Turn off comments and live chat. Option 2. Instantly and permanently block any offenders, spammers, trllls etc.

Well I for one know that this boycott isn't mere pathetic gesture politics and will definitely stop all racist abuse online forever. I mean, they're doing this for a whole weekend so it's clearly being taken very seriously. Think about that. An entire weekend. WOW!

I'll be honest, I don't know. But my suspicion is that for these Sky Sports YouTube only games (i.e. the Quarter-Finals) the coverage is going to be something between the the standard BBL Player level and the full blown Sky Sports TV level. Obviously the Sky Sports TV games, which will also be on YouTube (i.e. the Semi-Finals and the Final), will get the full blown Sky Sports TV level coverage. As for Monday's games, obviously plans were in place for them to be on Sky Sports YouTube - so I'm guessing something better than the standard BBL Player coverage. Now that they'll only be on BBL Player that could change, but my suspicion is that the production deal for the week is already done so things won't change. But all this is educated guesswork.

I remember people posting here how they were happy to pay for the low grade coverage from BBL player, & that they didn't want or appreciate the betetr quality coverage from multiple live cameras and proper presentation :-)

I remember people posting here how they were happy to pay for the low grade coverage from BBL player, & that they didn't want or appreciate the betetr quality coverage from multiple live cameras and proper presentation :-) Ah that was before Sky came along and offered the masses a view of a new wonderful world of quality production, incisive thought provoking discussion and informative commentators and multi camera views that kept up with play. Oh and of course you had to pay for it!!! in fairness the availability of some games on other free Sky channels is a bonus, just not the big important ones.
