I see that MarkBritball has tweeted that BBL from this weekend have a centralised streaming service (so not managed by the clubs) which will be payable. He’s usually right on stuff You'd need to define "usually" but it would be a bold claim if he wasn't sure. Meanwhile BE have a centralised streaming service that expect clubs to fund. #weneedBBLII

Centralised streaming service will be launched this weekend, as per Mark Woods. Neutral fans rejoice. gotta fast be running out of things for people to moan about with all the good news recently

He’s usually right on stuff I’ll stick my neck out on this and say it’s not happening. Not launching this week at least. Maybe next week to tie in with the start of the Championship and the Sky coverage? Mark Woods gets a lot of stuff right, but has been know to get things wrong too, especially around television coverage of the BBL. I’ve given examples before, so I won’t repeat myself. I’d be very happy to be proved wrong though... And if this is correct it doesn’t feel like a very unified approach is being taken, what with the likes of Wolves already promising all home games will be streamed for free all season on YouTube. Final thought... this would explain why the clips the BBL post on Twitter sometimes have different on screen graphics to those we see on the live streams...

Think he got this from Sharks press release about the Hemsley signing where it says Sunday's game will be streamed via the BBL's new streaming platform Nunchee.

£19.99 a month it is then. Excellent value for a service that often has issues with scoreboard, commentary and cameras that can’t keep up with the play.
Oh and that’s just for ONE TEAM’s games.
In related news, congratulations to Diane Abbott with her new role with the BBL. No press release yet, that’s just the only reason I can think of how they’d came up with these numbers.

I would pay that.

Full details here: www.bbl.org.uk/watch/Yes, £19.99 a month to watch ONE teams games (home and away). And that excludes all games involving Bristol and Worcester, who are going it alone. The price is getting absolutely slated on social media.... and you know the coverage won't be of any better quality than what we've been seeing on YouTube recently - wrong scores, incorrect clock, etc. Suddenly the £50 ' BBL Season Pass' offering all games all season offered by LiveBasketball.TV a couple of seasons ago looks amazing - even if the quality of the coverage wasn't very good. I've already just re-subscribed to Sky Sports. I really want to support the BBL, and the London Lions, during these times... but I need to think long and hard about this. I was honestly expecting something like £9.99 a month to watch all games...

I kind of feel that £9.99 a month for all games is the right ball park, but then I think £4.99 for a single match is good value. So my sentence looks very contradictory! £19.99 for one team including Keemotion coverage and not every match (although they are of course free on YouTube) I'm not sure about. There will be takers because if you are desperate (and I mean the positive version) to watch your team then I can see the value.

We were spoilt for free basketball this evening, thanks to Worcester Wolves and to Sky Sports. Long may it continue.

Yes Sky Sports on YouTube is free. And as mentioned on another thread, BBL is moving over to Sky Sports Mix which is free for VM customers. Maybe for other people too, I'm not sure. And Worcester Wolves will continue to stream their games on YouTube for free for the rest of the season.

Wouldn't your time be better spent cleaning your bridge? You seem to have nothing of interest to say about basketball.

Ah you’re being humourous and implying that because I say things which you don’t agree with that I’m a basketball kit (coz they live under bridges you see). Classic one - nice one Dave- you haven’t used that before..... (Actually you have - anyone who you consider hasn’t been waterboy at a NBL game is a basketball kit in your eyes). Grow up Dave. Maybe spell check some of your blogs as you’ve been a bit lapse in terms of grammar and spelling recently. Must do better
