Thought the uni lads played really well. A bit too keen to heave a 3 but definitely held their own.

Awful game to watch, littered with mistakes. We were never in it. Understand why coach rested first team players but worrying Fraser couldn't do better. Hardly an advert for basketball. Wondering if Fraser'll be able to dominate? Thought by now he'd be showing us more of his ability.

Cant stand this. Makes a mockery of the league when you field 10 kids not part of your bbl squad

Should be forced to use those players for the remaining tournament

As much as he looks a great teammate, Nichols needs start giving more on offence. He seems low on confidence and often scared to take shot. Hemsley is v good. 3 points in over 20 minutes against uni players. Get rid.

I know some of the comments are tongue in cheek but personally I'd have been annoyed if Rob had done anything other than play the kids. 3 games in 7 days. A squad that has already had 2 season ending injuries. A game that had less than nothing riding on it. Zero incentive (is negative incentive a thing?) to win the group. No-one in the stands. Almost no-one watching at home. No problem him doing it.
I don't have a problem with teams doing this in any sport in this scenario. Changing sport - I don't like teams putting out weakened teams in the league cup and definitely not the FA cup as in my view that makes a mockery of the competition. They're essentially saying they don't care if they go through or not. But when you're already through you've earned the right to do what you want.

Several of the Riders players had been involved with the squad for other games this season, and one has played international games for his country. It's a sensible option to give young players rxperience of BBL level action, and something Riders have done for many years.

I can understand all of the arguments for playing what was basically a student team. But I wonder to what extent not having a home crowd influenced the decision? I cannot believe that, had it been open to us, that is the team that would have played. I'd have been a bit miffed at a 3 hour round trip to see that.
