End of scorchers Hicks-ups?

My very last paragraph on Whatsbev (I don't need anymore T-Shirts!) was:

I like Cashaw and would retain him. But he needs to move from the point. Typically I like a scoring PG in the BBL. But this team is crying out for a leader to run the team. A poor man's Alton Byrd.

Ok, absolutely no claims on the last sentence, but Hicks gives leadership (no where near the Byrd level of course) and the added bonus of a scorer with defensive attributes.

I like the backcourt of Hicks and Cashaw a lot, and have been very impressed by what Walshe offers.

Potential is there, but my optimism isn't especially high; these following three issues need resolving in this priority order:

1. Creon has the parts, now he needs to coach them.  Make or break time for Creon.  Can't fault his relationship with players, but his job is to create a cohesive and successful unit.

2. The team is loaded with scorers and as such needs more than ever players prepared to find a role.  Key here is Cook.  He becomes the X-Factor and if he can play within the structure of the team, then Scorchers become a tough match-up outside the paint.  If not, then I easily see him released in favour of a Power Forward import.

3. The Bigs.  Richards and Rickman need to play the ultimate role players and (I sound like a broken record here) do whatever is needed to help the team on a given night.

If I'm honest I'm concerned with all three of those issues.  Skyler regaining form would also help.

That said, Hicks is one hell of a pickup. Whats the betting hes gone in a month when he gets a better deal literally anywhere else?

Hell leave and Creon will say we didn't want to hold anyone back as he always does. I remember pre season they were hyping their team to rival London when in reality all the good players from the bubble have signed elsewhere

Hicks flyes in on Wednesday morning, get picked up and whisked to Manchester to play. Scores 13 points and nearly helps them nearly win it.
That’s a Great signing and Will make a difference.
