Eagles will batter them unless the new signings are out of quarantine, which is highly unlikely.

they posted the faces covered picture on 20th Dec and said they had kept it under wraps a few days - so if a few is 4, then they are past 10 days quarantine bigger issue is the lack of court time Rocks have had in general for training and weights and getting all the squad together at same time, so while you can watch game tape and read up on plays, court time to gel is surely an issue
and it doesnot get better - as mainland scotland is back in our L4 (as good as lockdown) so Rocks will be back to more limited access that they mentioned in the December program
I dont expect a battering - but do think the visitors are hot favourites as their small number squad has been together for a while now, a huge advantage over this boosted rocks squad

Gareth made comment that they would be unable to access facilities for 3 days after the sheffield game. Sport is really restricted up here unless you own the facility. Especially bow that we are in level/tier4 I'm amazed the games not taking place at glasgow green outdoors! Hopefully the guys have been able to walk through or watch some tape ahead of the game but eagles are very strong.

If Delph and Keeling don't play then I'm expecting a fairly comfortable Eagles victory. Even if they do play Eagles should still win as it's doubtful that they've had much time to integrate or learn plays etc. Then again playing fast and loose sometimes can be advantageous and give new players an opportunity to showcase their talents/skills.
I think they're both decent signings. For a 7' 0" big Delph looks as if he's got athleticism and a bit of range. Makes him a hard cover as teams are finding with Maxwell for the The Eagles. Keeling really intrigues me and could be huge in this league. I remember the Rocks signing Mike Copeland from UNC. A different type of player for sure but he played significantly less minutes than Keeling did for UNC and was a success in The BBL.
Keeling has put up reasonable numbers in college and last year scored 18pts against Duke in what is arguably the biggest game in College basketball. That suggest pedigree, confidence and ability and is to be totally respected. Think he could be one of these "under the radar" type of guys. Just hoping they both help Rocks to be competitive but perhaps from tomorrow!

The more i read on keeling the more im impressed. His transfer to unc may have counted against him as it looks like he took time to adapt to the system. Weve had copeland, britt and now Keeling the first two were good bbl/onto have good careers. Keeling averaged 18 a game at charlstone is that the same colege as andrew lawrence?

On paper, both these guys look like players that might not have lowered themselves to BBL level were we in normal times.
But even if they play today, I am still expecting a comfortable Newcastle W. And betcha they pick up early needless fouls.
Without them, Newc by 20+.

Absolutely agree. I see eagles winning by 20 and delph in real foul trouble. Just the usuap path a new big takes in the bbl.
On lowering levels i think keeling changing schools in his final year has counted against him and maybe lowered his worth.

Delph not on the team sheet, Keeling is and has been on court.

said since game one thought Rocks squad looked interesting - and just needed 1 more (the shooting guard) to ensure a play-off season was possible, then a 2nd add of a big would help push for a home draw in play-offs. I think a couple of poor periods have maybe made some think the original squad is poorer than it has the potential to be?
Going to be interesting today I think - will show if this is a mid table squad now or not.

BBLPlayer strikes again - this time it won't recognise my password even when it is reset, so I can't pay or watch. It really is a lottery/ shambles if you ever get to watch a game on it !

If Gareth Murray wants to have any chance of a sneak win, he needs to keep Christian Keeling on court for the whole of the second half.
Twelve turnovers for the Rocks, 9 of them between two players Mpondo and Brandon.

3 players with 19+, no one else over 6, can’t win like that

Been many teams over the years winning with two guys. However against eagles that does not happen. Rocks looked better on offence but still stuttering on D.
Very enjoyable game. Onwards and upwards

Onwards and upwards You can see the difference a 2 player injection will make for Glasgow, they should be a lot better from here, keeling looks a great pickup for starters

Love that Fletcher responds with a 29 and 10 performance to welcome the rookie to the league

The league is getting tougher because all teams seem capable of beating others on their day. Definite improvement for Rocks but Eagles are looking like the team to beat atm.

But Eagles are a very balanced team with points under their belt. Agreed we are 100% so far but it's a very small number of games. If Eagles beat us over 2 legs in the cup I stand by what I said. Believe me, it gives me no pleasure!
