Just watched Sky interpret the new lockdown rules and I think they are stopping all elite sport.
Am I wrong because I'd like to be.

not sure how Sky could have been confused - I was reading the 22page lockdown doc released by uk gov as part of the announcement and it was very clear that an allowed exception for businesses and places to remain open is as follows: for elite sports persons to train and compete (in indoor and outdoor sports facilities), and professional dancers and choreographers to work (in fitness and dance studios) so a hall or stadium is permitted to open for elite sport to continue. the uk gov doc published tonight if anyone else suffers from mustreaditis is at: assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/949536/NationalLockdownGuidance.pdf

i still think that completing a 30-game league season, along with Cup & Trophy and play-offs is a huge ask - and extending the season, even with reduced capacities during the final couple of months, is financial suicide. The only reason i can see for doing it is if the DCMS money is dependent on it. But clubs were only due to play each other twice last season, i can't see that should be an issue. Meanwhile, i suspect Division One is screwed.
