Having watched Lions against Riders on Sunday I fancy our chances in this game, still something missing from Lions even if they did grind out the win in the end.
If we can force them to play at our pace I think we can take them again and secure the all important head to head!

Lions did to us what I'd expected them to do all season so far. From the games we've played them so far this year we've had to be at our best to beat them, anything short of that and it's a struggle. If Lions are rolling then no one can touch them, which given what they've spent I would expect. Surprised it's taken them this long to get going to be fair.
Still think we are a body short, if we're going to compete in all competitions this year. If this is down to finances then that's fair enough, always saw this season as one to survive and this Eagles team has been cracking to watch so far. No complaints from me.

That was Lions best performance of the season without doubt. Eagles are a very good team & aren't going to lose many games this season & I doubt they'll lose to anyone else by 20.
Lions defence was strong in the first half & their team play throughout was excellent. Eagles simply couldn't live with us, they tried different lineups but nothing quite worked.
Last week Lions won through grit, determination & belief. This week we won due to the overall quality and team play.
We'll still have hiccups along the way but when we play like this, we'll be very difficult to beat.

Eagles out-gunned last night, especially in the first half, confirming my view that if London do fire on all cylinders they will be very difficult to stop this season. The difference this time, compared with the game in the north east, was that London came ready to play and simply executed better. And Liggins wasn’t sulking.
As for Eagles, if they are to win silverware this year I still think they need to add at least one more player - preferably an athletic big who can enable Maxwell and Defoe to go to work without foul worries (just as London and Leicester bigs can). Might not be enough but that would be a good starter for ten and hopefully also help create more room for the Newcastle outside shooters.
Finally, an odd feeling watching the game - brilliant entertainment but left wondering whether teams should be travelling around the country at the. moment......

Completely different Lions from the game in Ncle, Liggins and Dirk more up for it this time although Robinson still doesn’t look happy, agree with other posters saying Eagles need another BIG to enable Maxwell and Deefoe not to worry about foul trouble, it won’t happen tho presumably for budget reasons

Oh and Nigel Lloyd is brilliant, particularly like when he doesn’t understand many calls and then just says well I never was a referee 😆

Agree with other comments that Lions look brilliant (as was the BBl player) - Thought Eagles looked disinterested and lacklustre. Maxwell looked below the average star quality you need to try and even keep close to a team like the Lions. Lasker looked like he wanted to just have a nice chat with Kevin Ware and the other London stars - Honestly looked star struck like a team playing the Dream Team or something.
Could help feel that any team that plays the Lions this season needs their 4th best player to have a MASSIVE game. Its all well and good having your stars turn up but if the domestic rotation players are too scared or just through up bricks, you don't stand much chance beating them.

And that's why I think we got the toughest draw in the Trophy Cup by playing Lions in the first round. Going to be hard stopping Lions with the wealth of talent they have at their disposal. Most teams will endure injuries and struggle at some stage (usually us!) but Lions have the luxury of putting another very good player in his place.

Vince & Lions must have really pissed you off at some point but get over it & move on.
