Was it really? I thought they'd made the quarters at least for the last 5 years They have been eliminated in the 1st round for the last three seasons now........... Lions, Eagle and Lions if my memory is correct. Can’t remember the exact stat from the commentary, but historically Riders have a poor winning percentage in Trophy finals too (but that does mean they’ve made a fair few though).

Tough win for Lions, but a win none the less. Ward-Hibbit doing what he did in the last couple of minutes to get the win for Lions must be hard for Riders to swallow. Eagles up next for Lions, win that and I think they could win the Trophy title. Such a weird draw that their likely toughest games are in the first two rounds of the competition. Dodgy draws eagles have had Lions and riders in cup & trophy

Definitely wish he was hitting those shots for us and not them. But don't begrudge him wanting to go and play for Lions with the lure of Europe. Hope he gets the playing time to showcase how good he is now hes fit.

Riders have capitalised on having a deep, capable bench over the last X years. This season's bench hasn't been performing up to the same mark so far. I don't know if that is what the stats say, but that is how it feels to me. Can't really see it changing, either, but you never know. Look what bringing in Tim Williams did a couple of years ago.
Lat night's game also brought into focus what a strong contribution Zach Jackson has been making.

If riders dont want ali Fraser, glasgow will take him. Hes a starter in this league and easily a 15 and 10 player. Maybe isnt the most suited player to riders BUT he is the type of player who takes time to become comfortable in a system.

I kinda hoped that'd be the case: can't say I was THAT optimistic though and so it's proved. He fouls a lot, misses easy layups and isn't anywhere near the standard I thought he'd be. Not a disaster, obviously, but created less of an impact than I expected.

Sounds like an ali fraser who isn't comfortable.his finishing round the basket when he is firing is quality, his distribution for his size is good and can go games without getting caught out by fouls

That's twice that Riders have choked against Lions now,it's becoming a bit of a habit! Certainly is. Both games Riders had in the bag. However, if Paternostro had the resources that Vince has had at his disposal, these two games would not have been close, they would have been blow outs.

You need to take those grapes back. Ha. Not at all. Lions deserved their wins. However with the depth of their squad they shouldn’t even be in close BBL games surely?!

You could argue that riders 2nd unit is stronger than lions 2nd unit if sll sre on their game.
