A crunch game for both teams.

One of the saddest aspects of the pandemic is that we may not get to see Crandall or Lee playing at the Morningside unless it's through a lens. My guess is that at least one of them will be in Europe next season. So pleased they signed for Riders but disappointed I probably won't see them play while watching from my seat in the stand.

Leicester put the final nail in Liverpool’s league hopes at the weekend - I‘ve got a nasty feeling the same will happen to Eagles, especially if Gordon is missing...

Made my lockdown weekend seeing their collapse, and Klopp's increasingly deranged comments made it even better! "One of the saddest aspects of the pandemic is that we may not get to see Crandall or Lee playing at the Morningside unless it's through a lens. Couldn't agree more, getting more spectacular as the games go on!

Riders wii assume that Gordon will be fit, Jackson missed just one match against Lions last week. Maybe after getting a technical and fouling out against Raiders, his headspace was not quite right for the Sharks game.

Gordon clearly turned his ankle in the first quarter of the Sheffield game and was limping noticeably when he returned to the court

Impressive win by Leicester, who must be a shoe in for the league now. Gordon might well have made the difference but we’ll never know

We know players could be injured, get Covid, to name but two possibilities. Also, most teams on their night can beat any other team. Long way to go yet.

Always felt confident that we would have too much in the end with Gordon missing. Just felt we had control of the game even though it was tight. Although I've had that feeling at least 3 times this year where we managed to lose the game.
Way too soon to say that the title is ours, although I'd say its probably a 2 horse race now. We need to at least split the 2 games with lions. Win them both and we would be in a great position. But I worry that the h2h might be key and that we may well come to regret that last 40 seconds against them even more than we already do.

If so, I can’t see how anyone can seriously say the league title is over? Laughable.

About as highly unlikely as Lions remaining unbeaten until the end of the season as you already pointed out.

Riders with a 12-1 record in league games, winning over 92% of the time are well ahead of London on both points and winning percentage. If Londen were to beat Riders, Riders would still be ahead on points and winning percentage, so fo London to win the league they would need to win every game and Riders would have to lose a game to another opponent. Effectively, as long as Riders match Londons results for the rest of the season the title will be Riders.

Hmmm...something tells me there are psychological mind games going on here from some posters to heap pressure on Leicester. Riders certainly won't become complacent with Rob as their coach and none of them will be allowed to think the title's in the bag. I don't think anyone really believes the league title race is over for Eagles, Lions or Riders - they're all in the mix.

For anyone who has not seen it, track down a video clip of Geno Crandall's extraordinary behind-the-back pass that gave Darien Nelson-Henry a basket. Breathtaking skill.

Interesting discussion with Rob P about how singing Crandell came about on this weeks The BBL Show. As for the league being over... I don't think so. Yes, Riders are in the strongest position, but I don't see how anyone can rule out Lions or Eagles yet... unless you're absolutely positive Riders won't lose a single game before the end of the season. It is surprising though, given the strength of Riders squad this season, they're only still in the running for 2 of the 4 titles this year.

Hardly surprising that Riders are only in 2 of 4 of the remaining competitions.. they were knocked out by Eagles and Lions who have comparable or better teams/squads.

I have similar feelings with regards to the Eagles lineup we have this year. Gutted that I won't get to see them play together in person. Would also have loved to have seen the Riders and Lions teams up close this year as well. I think last night showed that Riders have a bit more depth than Eagles can rely upon this season. If everyone is fit we can give both Lions and Riders a good game. We seem to get very little outside of our top 7/8 players and the drop off from them is a big one in my opinion. Would love to think we could keep this group together for next season and maybe add a little more depth to help with scoring from the bench.

I think Eagles starting 5 is possibly the best in the league. I fancied them for a cup but always felt they were a player or two short of being able to win the league. Realistically it's a 7 man rotation. Tends to be the Eagles way compared to Riders over recent years. Their extra firepower in the starting 5 gives them the edge in the cup in the first half of the season. Riders depth gives them the edge for the league.
