What’s happened to Maxwell? Cant hope to beat Lions if he has become injured?
Wierd, plays 1.20 at the start of the game, no more in the first half. Just reappeared in the third quarter.

Perhaps they threw him on despite carrying an injury because they were down. Last throw of the dice?

Always a tall order without Gordon. And even harder with Maxwell taking a knock although good to see him return.
Looks like Eagles need to get healthy, secure 3rd place in the league and get ready for one last tilt in the play offs - long shot.

Perhaps they threw him on despite carrying an injury because they were down. Last throw of the dice? Not sure it was desperation, but this was exactly what happened - injured in the first couple of mins, but recovered well enough to play in the second half.

Lions not wanting to risk where the 80% trophy goes this season.

Liggins is a hell of an asset.

Can’t be that bad m8, he scored 14 points in the second half after coming back on. Bad enough to restrict his mobility, most of those were uncontested threes when it was worth playing him for his perimeter shooting

Liggins is a hell of an asset. He’s also been ill all week, and wasn’t going to play this evening until earlier today. Great game for Parker and Robinson too.

Lions yet again showed a soft belly inside, pushed around too easily & dominated by a back up centre, although it did improve Inthe 2nd half. If Maxwell had played all of the 1st half there may have been no way back for Lions. Liggins was superb yet again & offensively Parker went about his job very effectively as did Justin but it is the contribution off the bench for Lions that is worrying, there's simply not enough players stepping up each week. Whether that's due to the spread of minutes who knows but no one from the bench really seems to be making a real impact week in, week out. Fahro is the only one to regularly contribute & Ware has nice little cameos but is too out of control too often. The others don't seem to be given much time, although they don't always deserve it, I'm not sure if Vince sometimes forgets exactly who is on the bench, JWH's lack of minutes is particularly strange.
For Eagles, was Fletcher carrying a slight injury or did Lions finally do an effective job of stopping him? His minutes would suggest he wasn't injured.
So Lions progress to a semi final against Rocks which on paper you'd expect them to win but as Lions proved last week against Cheshire, paper means nothing!

Should add that the coverage & commentary was very good tonight. Lions camera work is normally ok but they had a new commentator tonight who I thought was excellent. Concise, knew the game, didn't get over excited & worked well with the very excellent Nigel Lloyd. Also very fair to the opposition & showed little bias throughout the game(Nigel obviously shows more but even he tempers it down). No little in-jokes that the commentators laugh at themselves whilst missing points of the game.

That's disappointing. For as long as I can remember this is the first time I actually wanted Newcastle to beat someone. Maybe as far back as the Miller/Fife/Blaylock era was the last time, possibly.
With the complete and utter contempt that the Lions show their fans (as has been exposed) I now finally have a team I'd like to see lose more then Newcastle. Go Riders!

If JWH is fully fit he ought to be getting minutes. Riders would have him back in a heartbeat I reckon.

Whilst I agree with you, and too was surprised by the lack of JWH’s minutes (especially after his last game), if the guys you’ve got on the floor are getting the job done - as they were last night, why risk upsetting that.
