Eagles played some lovely basketball tonight and were breathtaking at times. Incredible that London could play so poorly but still threaten a comeback with their 3 point shooting.
Eagles really can beat anyone when everything is clicking. A bit more consistency and they could've been right in the title hunt.

That’s not a disqualification which counts for a game ban. It just counts as a different type of fouling out.
Whole page on this and not one mention of a guy with 26points and 14 assists. Which kind of shows what a standard he sets.

surely not if the play by play page is correct for the game - he did not get a DQ, he just had to leave the game for picking up two Ts according to the play by play, so still available for next game or is it incorrect and he got a DQ also ? 2xT = DQ and you have to leave the court. Also means 1 match ban. He was poor tonight, head just not in it. Mercurial. Credit to Joe I, played a true captains role and 70% shooting is excellent. Lions 3 point shooting was incredible. I dont think I have ever watched anything like it. Also never watched a BBL game with three players in double digit assists. MVP has to be Mr triple double, Cortez Edwards in an excellent team performance. Only downsides was missed lay-ups and really soft turnovers, but hey ho, many more positives. maybe I should have just put D then to clarify what I was meaning. 2xT equals GD that is why I was surprised at the comment about a 1 match ban - and no mention of a disqualifying foul D as opposed to being disqualified from rest of the game due to the double T the leagues I'm involved with a GD is just that, disqualified from rest of that game with no future game impact. D is when you get an auto one match ban. Hence my surprise that 2T in BBL leads to a match ban - tough league. Interesting to learn that.

Winning percentage table just updated.
The "well built" lady is ready to sing.
I found the lyrics for her first song :-)
I've paid my dues Time after time I've done my sentence But committed no crime And bad mistakes I've made a few I've had my share of sand Kicked in my face But I've come through And we mean to go on and on and on and on We are the champions, my friends And we'll keep on fighting till the end We are the champions We are the champions No time for losers 'Cause we are the champions of the World I've taken my bows And my curtain calls You brought me fame and fortune And everything that goes with it I thank you all But it's been no bed of roses No pleasure cruise I consider it a challenge before The human race And I ain't gonna lose And we mean to go on and on and on and on We are the champions, my friends And we'll…

Woohoo! Well done, Eagles. I read somewhere lions were 17/36 from 3 or close to it, without Robinson and liggins hitting them 2

Those sort of numbers only happen when there is little or no perimeter defense, but it was great to watch especially if you're a Riders fan.
Great job Eagles.

I find it very strange that Lions are apparently giving up the 5th most PPG in the BBL this season. I know that's not a pace adjusted statistic but it still seems wrong. Toughest defensive team Riders have played this season in my opinion but presumably haven't brought that kind of intensity too often. MVP has to be Mr triple double, Cortez Edwards. Nope. Pflueger was MVP. Eagles were +23 with him on the floor and those 13 point-less minutes were surely the key to that success? Absolutely no one should be praising Sayers' effort. He actually made an overall negative contribution despite his 24 points and 6 threes. And I can't believe not one poster has mentioned Adenekan who was a monstrous +19 in his seven minutes. Can't beat a good +/- statistic.

another stat that jumps out is 34 assists - be interesting to know how many other games (without OT) this season where a side has topped 30 assists.
as interesting as stats are, its a team game and it is the combined contributions that add up to the W

The point about +/- is well made. I know it's something that all coaches look at and analyse how players have contributed when on court regardless of their numbers. Efficiency index is something that they also look at. Cortez rightly got a lot of plaudits for netting the triple-double he's been threatening all season but look at Fletch's efficiency! For a PG to get 14 assists in a game is quite something but then to add in a top-scoring 26 points is awesome.
Yes, Lions were without Robinson and Ward-Hibbert but that happens after all Eagles were without Gordon for a month! But, London still turned up with a 12-man roster that doesn't have any real passengers. Joe Ik and Jules DA stepped up well and Dirk was Dirk. The Eagles did a great job on London's bigs and made them an irrelevance all night.
London's 3-pt shooting was effective and at a good %. Where the Eagles did a great job was defending the paint and then getting their transition game back to the standard they strive for. Their execution in the first half and in particular the first quarter was awesome. Credit to London who got it back to within ten at one point in the third before Eagles steadied.
As for Liggins? People said if he'd stayed in then the result and game would have been different. That's a fair point and might be right BUT he was in the game and it was his ill-discipline and frustration and his alone that got him thrown out. Eagles talk a lot about conbasketball kiting what they can control and just did it so much better than Lions on the night.

BTW why does "conbasketball kiting" come out as "conbasketball kiting" no matter how many times you try to edit it!
