Everyone knows that Phoenix are going to roll over for Riders as they don't want Lions to win the title. The titles been in the bag for weeks now, there was no way any other team were going to allow a situation where Lions won the league if they had the opportunity!!!

If Phoenix beat Riders, God forbid, on Sunday, they will cement 6th place in the championship and thus avoid both Lions and Riders in the playoff semi-finals.
Probably more incentive than rolling over to prevent Lions from winning the league title.

Get the impression some posters would love to say, 'Well, I didn't expect that to happen' if Lions go on to win the league should we fall to Nix tomorrow. After our shaky performance for half of yesterday's game I am obviously concerned about our ability to go the distance against Nix playing consistently well. Bring it on!

What a load of cobblers! After a poor run in the past 5/6 games a decent end to the league campaign was essential and the victory against Rocks was a welcome boost to the squad ( and the rest of the club as well, supporters included). We ve beaten Riders before, can beat them again and at very least will make them work very hard for any victory. Sharks/ Wolves wins last night wasn't the result Nix needed so as Mansfield Mike says we could definitely do with avoiding the top three teams.
So there, and not even a mention of the "dislike for Lions" some people ascribe to.

You never struck me as being paranoid! Riders win the title because they’re the most cohesive, consistent well coached team. They don't need anyone to tank to win the league. I would want to avoid Paul James team as much as lions and Riders. I don’t see anyone troubling the top 3 over 2 games tbh. |

Do you practice magic in your spare time because this is a distraction post, We all know your Impressive Lions should have swept the board and had the league wrapped up in December and conquered Europe as a little side project. But because our Small town (your words not mine) Riders May just win the league your deflecting the situation away from your circus with a pathetic “No one likes the Lions” No club would ever roll over to let another team win a league championship. If we win today Riders will be the best team in the league Same as if we lose and Lions go on to take the title, then Lions will be the best. You just need to admit that Lions fell well short of what the puppet master expected. |

Just to be clear, Lions should have won the league, if they don't ( which I've been saying they won't for about 2 months), then it will be as much due to Riders throwing it away as Lions deserving it.
The team took far too long to gel & then they got hit by Covid, they haven't had a dominant centre & have had a soft inside presence which has cost them dearly.
But if Riders do somehow lose today & Lions win their remaining games, then the 1st league game between Riders & Lions when Riders totally choked in the last 2 minutes will be the determining games.

16 ahead but I haven't felt this nervous in a long time. Coverage is a bit shaky with stuttering at times. Lee has been awesome.
